Bra size...... and best place to buy bigger bras

Hi all,

Could anyone remind me of the best website to look at for checking bra size. And does anyone know the best shop to go to for bigger sizes?

For sizing I'd just stick with M&S or John Lewis. To buy try Bravissimo or Figleaves online

No!! Don't get measured at marks and spencer. They are notorious for getting it wrong. John Lewis is better

You can buy in M&S if you know how to measure. Don't ask the fitters.

Measure under bust. The measure in inches is your back size (more or less).
Then bend forward, without a bra on, and measure around the boobs. The difference in inches should give you the cup size, starting with A.

I'm 32FF, recommend Bravissimo every time. They measure and fit you properly and only specialise in larger sizes.

Thanks all, bought one that I thought was the right size online (amazon!) And it was far too big all round. Will have a look at the websites

Just looked, and yes, I've been doing the add 4inches thing. Bigger cup than I thought may be needed!

The problem is that different brands and different models fit differently.
You should try a few around the same size to decide which is best.
A pain in the shop, even worse if you have to order them all, but worth it in the end.

I've been measured at bravissimo twice and both times they've insisted I'm at 30, which is so tight it gives me stitch. My ribs hurt when I wear them.

If you have very little fat around your ribs, like me, a slightly wider size may be better.
I'm 29 inches around the chest, and a 30 tends to be more comfortable, but still supportive enough, than a 28 (which is really tight).

I went to an independent shop. The lady there had me try on several bras until we found the right size and style for me. Ladies it was a revelation to me.! The whole of my appearance changed quite dramatically. For years I have been wearing the wrong size, too embarrassed to get fitted properly. It's just over a year since I went there, now I only buy from her and she is the same price as debenhams. Can't recommend getting properly measured enough it has completely changed how I look and feel about myself . It's a lovely shop too.

Agree with zzzzz, I recently managed to get two lovely fantasie bra's in Debenham in there sales pain less fire both then I would have for one full price. You can really get bargains once you know your size in a make.

I always like to try on first though, so a shop or online store that does good returns is a must.
