Those of you allergic to wool, what do you do in Winter?

I'm allergic to wool, all hair fibres to a lesser extent, polyester, acrylic and viscose.

I can wear cotton, silk, or any of the above with a shirt or t shirt underneath. But then l always get too hot. It's my arms that are affected the most. Is there such a thing as an armlet?

It's such a hassle every winter☹️️

Can you wear a knitted cotton sweater? What about a long sleeved top, under a knitted cotton sweater, which don't tend to be as warm as wool, so you wouldn't get as hot?

I have a couple of thick knitted cotton jumpers (although I bought these 15 years ago before shops started opting for cheaper manmade fibres).

Otherwise it's lots of layering. Cotton vest, cotton long sleeved top then a prettier short sleeve top over the top.

It's a pain isn't it! I'm allergic to nylon and polyester as well as wool. Clothes shopping is a trial for me!

Lots of layers. Cotton, linen, viscose, acrylic and polyester. Mainly cotton though.

It is a pain☹️️, especially as l hate layering. I just feel all trussed up and uncomfortable and hot!

I prefer cardigans to jumpers for this reason. But keep seeing lightweight lovely cashmere jumpers. I want one without resorting to layers. I particularly hate close fitting layers.

Fat face have always been good at cotton jumpers. Generally their style is too casual for me but my mum in recent years has found both a lovely pretty cardi and a thick lovely pink jumper both 100% cotton for me in there.

I get sore itchy skin with wool; assume cashmere is no good for you? I seem to be okay with that. I get mine from TK Maxx, nice quality and still affordable

I don't like to feel muffled up at all. I wear quite loose layers, always cotton first. There's usually a cardigan involved or a very slouchy jumper. I have to cut the labels out of a lot of things because they're itchy too.

French Connection 'Mozart' range of jumpers are 100% cotton.
Hush 'Stella' jumper is 52% Bamboo, 30% Cotton, 18% Wool. That has worked out well for me.
Gap 'cable knit mock neck sweater' is also 100% cotton. I haven't bought that one yet but I think it will be my next purchase.

I could have written your post, I too, cannot wear wool, polyester, nylon etc. Even if I wear a cotton top with a wool jumper over it, it still bothers me.

I wear a lot of cotton/linen tunics (from next) with leggings or jeans. I recently bought a couple of 100% cotton jumpers from Debenhams.

I shall be watching this post for other suggestions.

I can get away with cashmere if l don't wear it regularly next to my skin. But after a couple of days, it will start to irritate it.

And it always seems to itch more when it's very cold.

I like the look of the French Connection ones.

I wear cotton or bamboo thermals, thermal socks and very soft clothing.
With cotton leggings, I wear cotton dresses from places like white stuff and people tree.
People Tree have beautiful soft organic cotton.
Luva Huva has beautifully soft organic cotton and bamboo underwear, bras etc
H&M do very reasonable soft organic cotton, cotton cardigans etc
BAM have very soft no restricting base layers to keep you warm
All very comfortable and lovely to wear
Hush has some very lovely soft clothes

Am am allergic to lambs wool - think the lanolin - big red welts on skin ?

However I have found that I can wear Boden cashmere and pure cashmere as well as gap merino . I wear cardis over dresses .
Maybe that wd be a thing that works for you ? Hope so. ( I can't wear any other wool and even a low wool content mixed with cotton wd drive me insane within mins)
