Decent low budget facial moisturiser

With the weather being colder, my skin is slightly peeling.
I have tried simple rich moisturiser and that's just disappearing on my skin.
Can anyone suggest a good quality moisturiser preferably under £10.

I love Nivea q10. It's about a tenner but usually on offer for 5 quid in one of the big shops

littlemissneela · 07/11/2016 17:52

Another vote for Nivea Q10 Smile

I swear by Nivea's 'rich nourishing intensive moisturising care' cream, for dry/very dry skin. It's in a dark blue bottle. I buy mine from Wilkinson's for £3.40 for 250 ml which I think is a bargain as it lasts me about 4 weeks in winter,a bit longer in summer when I use less as my skin doesn't get as dry. I always come back to this one, despite trying many other, often more expensive creams. I get very dry, flaky skin around my chin and mouth area in the colder months, and I find that applying this twice a day, before going outside and again before bed, works wonders.

this is great and lasts for months.

I've started using Astral after hearing Joanna Lumley uses it and she looks fab for her age. It smells quite strong but it seems to be doing the trick. I used to wear the Aldi one which was nice but it wasnt rich enough for me

Evvy543 · 07/11/2016 19:13

Yeah Ive heard that aldi one is a dupe for la prairie caviar cream xx

Superdrug B.range is great. I've always spent a small fortune on Origins, Clarins, Estee, Clinique etc and it's honestly on a par if not better. Usually on half price offer and you can choose "age range" - great range, great price.

Coconut oil is incredible, I use it to remove my makeup and as a moisturiser for my face and eczema. It's really cheap in Asian food shops. Not use it would be good for oily skin but even when my skin is quite oily I've not had issues with spots.

Judydreamsofhorses · 07/11/2016 21:12

The Superdrug Pure range is excellent and really, really cheap - often on offer too.

Evvy543 · 07/11/2016 21:20

Yeah I heard good things about the superdrug range.
I ended up buying their pure hydrating serum and vitamin e facial oil to go with my No7 essential day moisturiser.
Hopefully my skin will perk up a bit!
I'm sure the central heating has something to do with it being so dry.
Got mine on 30 at the moment, due to such cold weather.
Nice and toasty Smile

If you have your heating up, then don't forget to hydrate. It is something I am guilty of not doing, and then wonder why my skin feels like its cracking and dry.
I will giving the Suprdrug ones a go, as my skin is at its usual time of year of not being helped by current moisteriser (face and body).
I currently use Nivea Q10 for face and for body I use Palmers cocoa butter lotion. I've started using my aqueous cream from the gp but thats not lasting long enough. I am also using Oilatum bath oil on my skin after washing with shower gel, and that is helping a little.

I was always quite keen on the L'Oreal Revitalift Laser Renew but don't know if they've changed the formula because the last one left my face looking red and feeling a bit sore Sad. Over the last week have been using the Superdrug Naturally Radiant Hot Cloth Cleanser followed by the Naturally Radiant day cream for normal/combi skin and it's great! Skin is feeling really soft, even though it's only been a few days. Quite keen to get the night cream as well after I finish using up a pot of Lift and Luminate (a bit too heavy for me for daytime so putting it on after my serum at night).

youvegottobekidding · 08/11/2016 13:34

Nivea so soft, it's making a huge difference as in terms of making my skin look & feel smoother & in turn my foundation goes on like a dream & looks great. I got a tube for £1.99 (or 99p) in home bargains or it could have been B&M. I use it day & night.

allthecoffeeplease · 09/11/2016 13:56

another for aldi caviar here.
