Thinking of buying this - does anyone have any reviews of it or any alternative suggestions?

I really want something that is super warm, even on the coldest days. Has to cover bum, be waterproof and have hood. Neutral dark or warm colour.

"A shame I've lost weight in a way as it's big on me now."

Ditto, actually, though I'm sure I'll get another winter or two out of it anyway, I can cope with looking slightly voluminous.

Land's End Squall parka - I have one but too hot for me! They have lots of cold weather wear and give temperature ratings for them.

meringue my isadore is more water resistant than a couple of other down parkas I have had but I must admit I have a merrell ellenwood for when it's really wet

I think super toasty is best as in standard UK temperatures, you can be wearing the lightest of indoor clothes underneath. Thinner coat and you're either overdressed inside or peeling off layers.

I'm going to sport the voluminous look too btw, finances won't stretch to a new one.

Thanks everyone, really appreciate your responses. Now seriously considering the Arctic, price has come down too.

Have been educated by all the links. Mind still blown by 66 North and Kanuk. I know what to get now if I win the lottery and decide to trek to the poles!
