I am a size 9 and struggle with finding stuff to fit my ginormous feet.

I'm also a nine and have hunters for when I need wellies. I don't tend to wear them dog walking often though as I get too hot in long boots, usually I wear merrell walking trainers.

Where abouts are you walking? We're in the country so it's mainly around fields and through woodland, so does get boggy in the winter.

PragmaticWench · 06/11/2016 18:51

Meant to say, my walking trainers are the kind you wear when you've given up on style or beauty, but they work well. DH wears walking boots with gaiters in the winter.

Also a size 9 I have purple hunters, check out welly warmers/welly socks which line the wellies and turn diwn over the edge, warm and stylish! Also for warmth try the muck boot company, warm and toasty but not as stylish.

Lots here: www.wellywarehouse.co.uk/womens-wellies/shopby/9?dir=asc&order=price

Well, possibly not stylish but then I'm sure there is such a thing as a stylish welly. I have Ilse Jacobsen Hornbaeks which is about as stylish is it's possible to get but they're still undeniably wellies!

I've tried Hunters and I have found the quality to be not so great. I will look at Welly Warehouse. Thank you v much.

For other boots and shoes, if you're a size 9, where do you tend to shop?

I'm a size 8/9 and bought some Muckboots last winter, warm and comfy and first pair that have actually last me more than a year. Would highly recommend them.

I'd recommend Dubarries, not strictly wellies, but very warm and have a good grip. They are quite pricey (~£300), but worth every penny!

SqueakyChicken · 06/11/2016 19:13

How much are you willing to spend? The best and warmest wellies are IMO Aigle Parcours Iso, but definitely reflected in the price...Pics don't do them justice either, stylish in person.

Le Chameau here. They are quite narrow so perfect for my barge feet.

Rastel38 · 06/11/2016 19:14

My recommendation would be for Aigle. I wear mine everyday in wet weather/ winter. I have the ones with the red neoprene lining. Very warm and comfy and I walk miles everyday with my dogs.

BeachysSandyFlipFlops · 06/11/2016 19:17

Same as Raste, Aigle with neoprene lining...

Really supportive and warm

My inlaws live in the depths of the country and practically need wellies to even leave their house in the winter. However they are on a tiny budget and would piss themselves laughing at the idea of spending 3 weeks rent on a pair of boots.

I bought them both some fleece wellie liners as a stocking filler one Christmas and they have never looked back.

Shadowboy · 06/11/2016 19:23

Le chameaus are amazing. I got my most recent pair for Christmas 2013 and they are still in amazing condition! I walk the dog daily, do the horse and have chickens/turkeys so am in them 3/4times a day. They fit well and have no splits or wear to the sole. They are neoprene lined so keep my feet warm in winter and actually arnt too hot in summer. I think they are stylish as she's aren't 'try hard' country wellies and go with anything - jeans/cords/leggings.
