Velvet?

Anyone embracing the velvet trend at the moment?

I love the feel and look of velvet (know that it's vile to some people)

Think I want a pair of velvet cropped trews but they're just making me think of a costume I wore for a school play c. 1989.

Used to wear velvet granny jackets from charity shops in the 90s so not sure will be returning to that look this time around.

Love that, Pest. Would look hideous on me now but I would have worn it as a skinny 19 year old v happily (with DMs).

That dress is bloody lovely.

But onwards and upwards. I've had a good rummage through my un-kondo'd wardrobe and like dan, I've found some velvet belters: vintage swing coat, vintage swing jacket and some swishy wide legs from around 20 years ago that are absolutely spot on all over again.

Am I smug? You betcha.

Ooh I've got a berry coloured velvet swing coat from twenty years ago (unworn in the last eighteen but couldn't bear to part with it because it was so expensive - was bought for a winter wedding.) is it acceptable again?

Looks like it is Thegirl

Floisme · 06/11/2016 17:34

No, not acceptable at all - let me get rid of it for you.

I used to have a black velvet cloak in my Goth days. Sill miss it.

Waxlyrically · 06/11/2016 21:58

I've just bought this. It's really easy to wear. Love velvet!

Hurrah for non- kondo-ing!

Think I will order the cropped trousers and will report back

There was a lovely velvet jumpsuit in the Guardian this weekend - with sleeves and from New Look so v cheap. Could I find it on the New Look website? Could I chuff.

I'll just have to get out my 10 years old sapphire blue Devore velvet dress from Toast. Ah well.

I'm considering a velvet dress for the work Xmas do. Still not bitten the bullet yet as I'm worried I'll look like a furry sausage.
