I've been looking for this colour of nail varnish for a while without success. I love dark nails in the winter Smile Could anyone recommend a really, really dark, almost black burgundy colour? Thanks

Cherrywood sorry!

Brilliant. Going to try the Rimmel one too.

Barry M do a brilliant one in the coconut infusion range...I can't remember the name but if you look at their coconut range it's the only one in that colour tone so you can't miss it. I'm wearing it now and would say it's very similar to chanelrouge noir, which I also have but rarely wear as it chips more readily and makes a horrible mess/ stains all over your fingers when you remove it. Love Barry M!

Kiko do a good one (I have it on my toes right now)

I used a Rimmel one for ages that wasn't Black Cherry but can't remember the name. It was very dark and a plummy-purple-black. If they still do it you will find it on the stand.

Rouge Noir, there is nothing else like it!

OPI Lincoln Park after dark

CND sell a gorgeous dark, dark burgundy that is one step removed from black called Dark Dahlia, which is on my toes now.

I get shellac in a shade called Fedora. Very close to Rouge Noir. Love it.

OP have you got 2 coats of Essie Wicked in your photo? I'm wearing the same shade & it seems much darker. Lovely colour though.

I have a ridiculous library of nail polishes which are all almost-black-but-not quite.

I'm wearing OPI Lincoln Park After Dark atm. It's gorgeous but perhaps not quite what you are after as it's a really dark purple rather than a burgundy.

I completely agree with PP that the wear on rouge noir was always horrendous; I've had it chip within four hours. However, Chanel have brought out a new range of long wear polishes and apparently this problem is much improved. Make sure it's the new formulation if you do buy, though.

OPI Black Cherry Chutney has a gorgeous gold shimmer to it which is a bit different. Essie Wicked is my personal favourite, however - virtually identical dupe for RN and lasts really well.

Was also coming on to say rouge noir but first posters beat me to it!

Or look for dupes if out of budget

This is mine, it's a nails inc kale one. When I can be arsed going downstairs I'll check the colour Grin

It's a fairly popular colour though that seems to be in a lot of gift sets.

Thanks for all the ideas. I've actually got this nail varnish on in the attached photo this weekend (excuse the dodgy manicure-I applied it after two glasses of prosseco). It's Revlon Vixen 570 and I like this but wanted something even darker.
My hairdresser wears the exact shade I'm after but I always forget to ask her what it is when I'm there and I think she will think I'm a bit crazy if I text her to ask her which shade of nail varnish she wears Smile

Just in case you want some inspiration! I must have picked the label off so I don't have the name but this is mine.

And it's a bit purple. Never realised that Confused

I got a Nars one in tk Maxx today. It's called crossroads. I haven't worn it properly to know how it lasts but it goes on really well.
