Bra advice for the enormous of nork.

Pre baby I was 32F/G and a size 10-12. My boobs were big but manageable.

I went up to 34HH in pregnancy/breastfeeding and dress size 14. I've managed to lose a stone since I quit BFing in August and now the top end of a size 12, but the jumbo boobs have yet to commence deflating.

As a result, my shrinking waist is completely eclipsed.

I'm not mad keen on anything moulded/padded as I find they add bulk to the problem, I find full cups tend to squash them into weird cone shapes. The only shape I really get on with is balconette.

I'm after a good scaffolding to lift them up and away from my waist. Anything I have at the moment (whilst fitting perfectly) is not great in terms of lift.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

I'm a GG, and prefer balcony like you, I get mine from bravissimo as they tend to have a good selection and non padded.

M&S used to be good but found recently that even the big sizes are padded and look bulky.

Also a make called Freya is good, you can get them a few places now.

PawWavingCat · 21/10/2016 15:22

Which brands have you tried? I'm a similar size and find Fantasie really good in terms of fit and uplift. I wear a half cup style which doesn't give me conical breasts, but I'm not spilling out of them as I would with many balconette bras.

But I don't get on with Freya bras at all for example.

I've also had good Wacoal bras in the past and John Lewis have started stocking them in recent years.

I like Freya - I am a 32G and they seem to be one of the best for big boobs and a small back. Loads of places stock them too. They also give your boobs a nice shape - which is nice when you've been wearing the unflattering and hideous things that are nursing bras!

LondonSouth28 · 21/10/2016 15:25

Sorry I mean 30G not 32G

TheTroutofNoCraic · 21/10/2016 15:35

Thanks!
I've mostly been in Fantasie, Panache and Debenhams 'big girl bras' range.

Haven't tried Freya bras in years, I might have a mooch there and in bravissimo at the weekend!

Get thee to Rigby and Peller. They are the experts. I speak as someone who was once a L cup Shock

QueenLizIII · 21/10/2016 18:35

Another vote for Freya. It is all I wear. I am a DD to an E cup.

Fennwalker · 21/10/2016 22:01

Another vote for Bravissimo and Rigby & Peller, one of them will sort you out.

domesticslattern · 21/10/2016 22:40

A Freya bra from Bravissimo- sorted

FeliciaJollygoodfellow · 22/10/2016 00:09

I'm a 34H an sister love the Bravissimo own brand Satine. It is a plunge style but not push up (if that makes sense) and just fits me so well. Bonus is it's not as expensive as other brand stuff.

I've got nude and several patterned ones, it's a very popular style so they bring out several colourways every season. I don't get on with Freya they just don't suit my body shape for some reason.

buckeejit · 22/10/2016 09:23

Can other vote for bravissimo. I used to like Freya but now they seem to make me go east west & don't work. I like panache too but prefer bravissimo, however have had a few with wires coming out-they will refund/exchange but the last one I just sewed back in.

claptomania · 22/10/2016 10:15

As per Momzilla go directly to Rigby & Peller, do not pass Go, etc.
They know their stuff, and stock good quality.
Big boobs (I'm 32G or possibly GG now) need specialist treatment and a bit of ££ investment. I find the stuff in Bravissimo is not as well made.

FeliciaJollygoodfellow · 23/10/2016 23:22

Rigby & Peller may not be a good option for people living outside of London Confused. Personally I can't really afford £50 and whole days worth of travel to buy one bra as that will be the only one I can afford!

IJustLostTheGame · 24/10/2016 10:27

I'm a fantasie fan. There's one balconette that has moulded cups. It doesn't add any extra on but does a good job of moulding my norks into a nice round shape and lifting them at the same time.
They don't do pretty colours though, just black and nude.

Go to Bravissimo if you can. Lots of choice in your size range. I personally stick to Cleo as they're nice and firm, give lots of uplift and aren't too pricey!

polyhymnia · 24/10/2016 13:57

Definitely go to Rigby and Peller. They will sort you.
