Does anyone ever finish a bottle of nail varnish?

I never get beyond half way down. By that time the varnish is going sticky and the brush barely reaches the varnish unless I screw the lid down and unscrew it again every time I want to load the brush.

Does anyone do better? What's the secret?

I did. But only because it was Mavala and they are teeny tiny bottles.

But only because I mistook the bottle for my eye drops, opened it without looking and tipped the whole lot in my eye.

Normally I end up throwing away half used bottles that have gone a bit thick.

That time, however, it was me that was a little thick!

put a few drops of polish remover in if it's gone a bit thick, and shake well.

That won't work on Charley tho...

Never ever ever in my 36 years have I ever finished a bottle.
But then I'm not a massive wearer of nail varnish, I tend to buy lots, to go with an outfit, or because I've seen a really nice one, then use once or twice. I have loads hardly used knocking about the place.

I wear nailpolish every day and have re-purchased favourites - maybe not 100% finished but almost there and thick and clunky. Thinners tend to spoil the polish in my experience. Off the top of my head I have had numerous bottles of Chanel Rouge Noir, Essie Dive Bar and Leighton Denny Message in a Bottle.

I have no idea. DH took me to A&E straight away and I washed my eye out with optrex constantly on the way.

I had no idea a thread about nail varnish was going to involve eyes and A&E . But I'll stick to throwing them away when I want to get rid of them.

Apparently keeping them in the fridge keeps the varnish nice and thin.

I have never finished one!! Maybe they should be made half the size?!

I always have the same problem as OP - the brush doesn't reach the varnish after I've used about half the bottle, unless I screw the cap on and off each time. How do people who finish the bottle deal with the brush-reaching issue?

Very rarely, except base coat and top coating which are obviously used regularly.

Me too. My fridge is full of half-used colours, although I have just purchased some thinner.

Only base and top coat.

The colours get too gloopy after a while so I hand them down to DD to use a couple of times before chucking them.

I always worry about recycling the glass too. I just bin them (which is totally out of character ). Maybe I should slosh them around with nail varnish remover to get the worst out.

This is why I only buy cheap nail varnish, then I don't feel so bad about binning it.

To get the last bits out of the bottle, I've got one of these. I can't hold the bottle anyway due to my crappy hands, but these are great as you can tilt the bottle.

Never! I could only reach upto half of a bottle before they got thick and could not be used again.

Twice - Chanel pirate (which I now cannot find - sniff) and one a very pale lilac OPI one that I don't know the name of and the sticker came off the bottom, so also cannot find again.

No never. I've stopped buying it now because it always seems like a good idea at the time but I can never be arsed putting it on

Almost bottles of nude colours, but have always wondered same thing, why don't they make them smaller?!
