Smart outfit for 9 year old who won't wear a dress

I have a wedding to attend soon and a 9 year old dress refuser. She wears jeans leggings or black school trousers every day. She had the odd dress when smaller but really hates them now and I don't want her to be self conscious and uncomfortable.

My sil suggested I get her a nice blouse type top and a blazer she could wear with the school pants. The problem is I've no idea where to even start looking as I have zero fashion sense. I usually pick up bits in Tesco or Asda and they have zero things like this in store.

If anyone can help I would be hugely grateful. We have most shops in the area but they are all spread out in different towns and I've no clue which are good for kids stuff.

Zara , h and m or river island do smart separates which could go over black trousers. Maybe with patent shoes or boots.

Jumpsuit!!

Jumpsuits are certainly worth looking at. I'd check out Mango and Zara first off.

Black leggings and a nice top (tunic or long shirt).

Shorts with tights? Some nice ones in Zara.

I have one of these! She did black jeans, a black and white striped top and a black jacket. She looked pretty cool.

Go to river island - some lovely outfits there are hardly any dresses
