And want to make sure I'm not committing a style faux pas. I like them because of the colour, the heel height and the fact that they don't come too far up the leg. Oh and the price is pretty good too. Thoughts?

I posted some black ones last year and was told they were Mum boots so I just want to make sure I'm not straying into that territory this Autumn...

I can't ever remember seeing someone's boots and thinking "they look awful". I either think they look nice or they don't register. If you like them, buy them, don't worry that a stranger on the Internet thinks they are mum boots. I'm just fascinated by the idea that people are making a judgement about my winter footwear as I'm out and about.

taybert · 22/09/2016 21:41

Also, if someone declares"mum boot" are they just automatically right? How do we know what shoes they are wearing? Why does their opinion trump mine?

Pyrrha · 22/09/2016 21:46

I like them, I'd wear them with opaques and a jersey tea dress :)

JanetStWalker · 23/09/2016 00:04

I rather like them and I almost never do on these kind of threads.

Corialanusburt · 23/09/2016 00:07

They're just OK for me.

mogloveseggs · 23/09/2016 00:12

I like them, and the sainsburys ones. Am pondering these, but not sure if I'd get the wear out of them.

Well they arrived and I think they are gorgeous. However they are a bit too big on the ankles and with me having skinny legs they just don't look right. Gutted Sad.

The search continues...

I love those mog!

Celticlassie · 23/09/2016 11:14

The definition of a mum boot has definitely evolved to the point where it now pretty much takes in any boot which is not high fashion and a poster doesn't like.

mogloveseggs · 23/09/2016 11:15

Buzzard they're lovely aren't they I just wonder how many years I'd get out of them for them to be worth the money. Might order abd try on then decide Grin

Buzzardbird · 23/09/2016 11:46

Someone is selling those on EBay for £55 mog, if you happen to be a 5.5?

mogloveseggs · 23/09/2016 12:48

Ah no I'm a 4 but thanks anyway

Buzzardbird · 23/09/2016 13:11

Ha! Same here!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 23/09/2016 21:13

I fucking hate the phrase, 'Mum boots.' Makes me spit.

DragonitesRule · 23/09/2016 22:23

I hate spitting...

But I like the boots from next.
