No 7 foundation?

Is this any good? Have been using the bourjois healthy mix but it is running out so I thought I'd give No7 a go. I am intrigued by the colour matching gadget!

I love the Intelligent Colour foundation. It comes up quite dark, and I have the light one. Having just looked online I see they now do an extra light one.

I love the texture and the way it goes on. It is light and not at all cakey.

Also as white as a sheet Grin, stay perfect in calico is very good on my skin. Have used more expensive foundations but I don't feel I need to with No7.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 17/09/2016 11:42

Cool Vanilla is the most perfect match I have ever found BUT I don't find the foundations good tbh and they're expensive for what they are. Stay Perfect is lovely but not enough coverage, Perfect Matte sits in my pores. If I mix the two together I get a pretty good foundation but I wouldn't repurchase. I've used every type of brush and sponge but makes no difference.

CatherineDeB · 17/09/2016 11:46

Interesting Dame, I like stay perfect because I don't actually want much coverage so am really happy with it. Reminds me of the Clinique one I used to use but I can buy No7 very locally so it wins.

Not sure why as I buy everything else online as my credit card will testify.

Beautifullymixed · 17/09/2016 12:04

I'm thinking if I try the Wayne Goss hack (that I love) of dropping a drop of jojoba oil in with the beautifully matte foundation, it will go on ultra smoothly, but still be matte enough for my liking.
The colour honey, suits my mixed race complection perfectly.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 17/09/2016 12:09

I have to say the match the machine did for me was wrong and the chap who was behind the counter matched me to cool vanilla instead which was the perfect shade.

Itsautumn · 17/09/2016 12:24

So I bought the stay perfect one this morning and I really like it! Good coverage and easy to apply. Colour match is spot on and very natural. I also bought the highlighting stick and a liquid eye shadow as it was 3 for 2. After only one application I am pretty happy with the result. Love the eyeshadow, looks great and easy to apply.

Glad you like the stay perfect foundation OP.
It's so easy to use, and natural looking.
I'm jealous of the highlighting stick. Might treat myself on payday. Smile

Itsautumn · 17/09/2016 12:58

I really rate the stick. Easy to blend and I prefer a cream highlighter to a powder as it doesn't show up the creases around my eyes!!!

That's exactly my problem too with powder highlighters. Showing up wrinkles. Not a great look.
I've just filled my boots basket up ready for payday in three days - have gone for the highlighting stick in bronze.
Can't wait!

Itsautumn · 17/09/2016 13:30

Hope it works for you!

Another pale face here, and Calico is perfect for me.

I got a sample of the No 7 primer but didn't like it. I do like Benefit Porefessional but think it's stupidly overpriced for such a tiny pot, so looking for something else to try now.

Itsautumn · 17/09/2016 19:20

Remus, I am also for the lookout for a good primer that isn't stupidly over priced. I tried the Nivea shave balm that I saw recommended on MN but it didn't really work for. Too stingy!

Try Nivea soft moisturiser
On screen make up artists use it as primer
Get a mini pot for £1 and try it Wink

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 17/09/2016 21:58

What I like about Porefessional is that it's very slightly coloured (can even be used on its own, without foundation) and not at all greasy feeling.

wildthingsinthenight · 17/09/2016 22:09

Love the colour matching and mine is the perfect shade for me! Another Calico. Went with a friend yesterday to get her lipstick shades colour matched to her foundation and this worked really well too!

Beautifullymixed · 18/09/2016 02:03

I got the no 7 airbrushed primer as a free gift, which is ok I suppose. Expensive though.

I love this primer - and the price especially.

Beautifullymixed · 18/09/2016 02:05

It makes the no7 stay perfect foundation last twice as long I think, and look extra smooth and silky.

EmmaMacgill · 18/09/2016 02:27

I was matched to Warm Sand, which is a really good colour for me. Unfortunately I have quite oily skin and they don't do it in the beautifully matte, I tried it in the stay perfect and they gave me a sample of the primer which I really liked.
I got colour matched to a lippie called Raspberry Silk which I'd never have picked in a million years and looks amazing!

The lady at the counter spent ages with me and was really helpful and very knowledgeable, great service

CoconutAmericano · 18/09/2016 09:32

That's interesting about the colour matching lipsticks too. Never heard of that before!

CoconutAmericano · 18/09/2016 09:34

I got a sample of their nude illuminating primer to try under their stay perfect foundation. Hoping for good things. Anyone else use this primer?

Clickclickclick · 18/09/2016 09:41

I like No7 foundations. My favourite is the lift and luminate one. It's got a smidge of highlight in it (spf 15) and the coverage isn't really heavy at all.

burnishedsilver · 18/09/2016 09:42

They have cards in the display stand, for each colour match foundation shade, that list the lipsticks to go with it. I bought 2 and love them.

Branleuse · 18/09/2016 10:06

i love no7 lift and luminate foundation

April241 · 18/09/2016 10:27

Ooh I haven't tried the lipsticks, will need to try them out.
