Help! My new Hush Puppies rub my heels! Should I heat with hairdryer?

(keep trying to change my username but password issues, FYI it's going to be ChickenVindaloo so you can just call me that. Or OP)

What are your best tips for either softening the leather at the heels or something to stick on my foot or inside the shoe itself?

Tinterweb suggests I soften the leather by heating it with a hairdryer whilst wearing them. Then feed the leather afterwards to stop it cracking.

Anyone tried this?

Whole point of HP is that they're comfy!!

You want moleskin. A few brands make it- I use this one on the back of the children's school shoes as otherwise they always get blisters...
