Ok i've never had the nerve to ask you fashionista's .. please don't shoot me, got a black tie do, i'm a size 12 , 34 oldbut my legs are terrible pasty, clunky and deffo cankled, i've always done the long black dress but my friend will lend me a lovely black calf length prom style dress with white embroidery (its by debut and is fab) I was going to wear it with opaques and heels (pointed toe 8cm heel which i can JUST about manage) But arn't points out? i have got round toe heels but they just looked frumpy

Please help.. i don't get out much .. stuck in the country with 2 kids and a moulting cat

TIA

Kate

Opaques not a good look with evening wear.Too officey.
Go for sheer and the pointed toes.
Yer legs can't be bad if you are a 12.
(Wtf is 'cankled' though?)

Thanks

cankle n. A thick ankle, particularly one that appears to be a continuation of the calf.

I'm not sure cankled is a proper word though

I've never really "done" sheer tights .. black or do you mean the nude style, i recoil in horror at American tan .. reminds me of my nan ?

You can tell i don't get out much !

cankle
lmao

Yes I know Cod but I think it looks minging.
Hilarious '2007 New You!!!' section in Telegraph last month.
Photos of all there to help and all looked absolutely dreadful in partic. Lesley Thomas in a pair of vile thick wrinkled tights.

!0-15 denier-very dark grey.

Opaque and round toe v fashionable but I think with a prom style dress you're better with a lighter tight - I would go as natural as poss, or get some self tan and do without.

Would your pointy shoes not look a bit vintage with a prom style dress? That's the mindet you want!

Alternatively you could wear converse a la Lily Allen

Moondog my dh has a wankle = weak ankle.

moondog · 02/02/2007 13:59

at wankle too.

Very fashionaBLE IS FINE IF YOU ARE A 'WITH IT' (AS dear MIL said, may she RIP) SORT OF GAL.
Otherwise it can backfire horribly and you end up looking an absolute hound.

Therefore,if not overly confident, best look is sheers and pointies.

yaddayah · 02/02/2007 14:03

Not sure if i'm "with it" as long as i don't look "past it"

sheers and pointies it is then !!

(the only thing vintage about me is my wrinkles)

THANK YOU SO MUCH!
