Skinny jeans faded just at the knees...

...can I dye them? Or will they dye unevenly so the knees still end up too pale? Any tips welcome!

Mine do this. Strangely, the right knee is more faded than the left, it's always quite white! I kneel a lot though, changing nappies, playing with the kids etc. I only buy cheapish jeans on the high street and I've been wondering if I need to spend more.
