Could I get away with a bob hair cut if my face is quite round?

Have hair appt tomorrow and apart from knowing I need a change from my light brown shoulder length with fringe straightforward cut I don't know what to go for. I go to the Gym and swimming a lot so thought shorter would be better. Would like a style rather than a shorter version of what I have.
TIA

Only if you want to look like a chipmunk

slightly longer bits at front to narrow your face, perhaps?

WigWamBam · 31/01/2007 16:47

Was about to post that I have a round face and usually have my hair bobbed ... pretty sure I don't look like a chipmunk though, although I dare say some would disagree!

Ask the hairdresser to recommend something for you.

How about a "choppy bob"? Lots of layers, sitting slightly messy, but overall same length all round.

I last did this in 1994 when it was deeply fashionable to have a chin length bob and I am telling you if you can see anything approaching a round shape in your face or even wide defined cheekbones, it is an unmitigated disaster. You would be better having structured layers and a long asymmetrical fringe. I remember when my bob grew out to a Rachel in the late nineties and at last I did not look like a AA MIlne character anymore...never looked back

depends on the bob and the skill of the hairdresser!!

snyway now Vicky Beckham did it the magazines are all saying it is very last season sweetie...

its all about fringes now...

If you fancy it go for you - didn't anyone tell you - the new rule is that ......There are NO RULES !!!

I have a round face and bob - I love it and it suits me - and no I don't look like a bloody chipmunk - cheeky sods !

I find keeping it slightly angled helps - so my front bits are slightly longer to elongate face a bit !

Try it - you can always grow it out if people keep offering you nuts !!!

Just gone from a sort of Rachel back to my bob and am glad that I did. Squarish/roundish face and don't resemble a chipmunk. Go slightly longer first time and then you can be braver if you like it next time.
