Help...no time to go shopping apart from online from home. Needing a dress that would do for a black tie 'do'..nothing too taffeta and ballgowny. Where can I look online or what can I do to narrow my search through ebay?? Tried coast, monsoon and Karen Millen on ebay..any others?? Thanks to anyone with any ideas...!

long or short black tie?
Principles often come up with the goods, even full price, and if cocktail-dress type, River Island or Miss Selfridge, also full price.

Monsson on Ebay is a good idea though. What shape are you? if 10-12ish and you want something long and slinky I may be able to lend...

Imafairy · 31/01/2007 14:07

What style and what budget?

Imafairy · 31/01/2007 14:08

Debenhams online has a great range.......

wurlywurly · 31/01/2007 14:09

winnie what sort of thing do you want, i will go off and search for you?

fairyjay · 31/01/2007 14:17

Coast have got some super stuff in - and very good sale prices. Don't know if they're available online though.

winniewoo · 31/01/2007 16:02

Thanks everyone.......now I have your attention...(smile)
ok..size 14..pear shaped..small of nork so can't do low cut etc..
def short and would consider skirt and top. Not comfortable with strapless as no boobs to hold up anyway. Thing prom dress shape suits me..had another thread going as I had bought one from ebay and though it would be perfect but the satin wasn't very forgiving..like the tulle look though. Can't do straight and slinky..hips too big.....really really appreciate this. It's my SIL (who's ultra glam) 40th.

winniewoo · 31/01/2007 16:06

sorry..forgot..budget up to 140pounds...really looking for something quite special..quite often find this hard so don't mind stretching the finances on this one. TIA

winniewoo · 31/01/2007 16:08

How did you find that so quickly WW? Lovely..my only thing with monsoon is is that's it's the only shop here ( out in the sticks) and I think everyone will make a bee-line for it and end up duplicating as it's quite a big party in a small area! Lovelt though..might just have to order!

This is pretty, though maybe not quite the style you had in mind. It's about three-quarters of the way down this page .
