Hi, please help me decide between these very similar evening dresses for a work black tie function!

I have a limited budget £50.

I'm 5'9, size 12, a little pear shaped, size 34c boobs and am 39.

I'll post the links separately as I keep losing my post!

Thank you Smile

Dress 2. All the others are too safe iykwim

DropZoneOne · 21/08/2016 10:32

Dress 3 - the wider straps and upper half embellishment will help to balance out wider hips.

TigerBreadAddict · 21/08/2016 10:32

Because I'm tall, sometimes a full skirt with nothing to break it up makes me look like a tree. Dress 1 overcomes this issue.

Dress 2 looks cheap and nasty, and really poorly finished, look at the side hem down the split, it's uneven.

Dress 5 is the nicest imo.

TigerBreadAddict · 21/08/2016 10:33

Appreciate all opinions by the way, thank you.

I basing my opinion on dress 1 being the one that looks the least formal with the frilly top part. But it is a lovely dress like I already said. I'm not sure what the materials of the other dresses are like, dress too would be my favourite if it is very good quality material, I love the sheer back and round neck so not fussy. Perhaps a few more stitches in the slit Grin

I like dress 1. I like the narrow waist and the flared skirt. I think you have to try them on though.

Donthate · 21/08/2016 10:37

Post pics OP when they arrive

mamapants · 21/08/2016 10:38

Dress 1 is my fave and think should work for your figure

GinIsIn · 21/08/2016 10:43

There's not much stretch in it, no. Mine is in a different colour so it may be different but it's very tight fitting and not the sort of dress you can sit down in easily!

Danglyweed · 21/08/2016 10:46

Id go for 3 as the 'safe' one. Suppose it depends aswell on whether you have the shoulders for the wee strappy ones? Im a tiny hourglass but wide shoulders so would feel ridiculous in them, thats obviously clouding my choice

Do you like this one.
I wore Eliza j to my wedding and it was a beautifully constructed dress

1 is the nicest by far. Apart from 2 which is also nice the others look a bit like clichés of bridesmaid dresses.

TigerBreadAddict · 21/08/2016 10:52

I did see that one dowser but wasn't quite taken with it. Thanks, though.

And the second one is lovely, but out of budget!

I prefer 1. 2 is cheap looking and I think the others are quite bridesmaidy.

paddypants13 · 21/08/2016 10:57

I think dress 1, closely followed by dress 5.

TigerBreadAddict · 21/08/2016 11:13

Have ordered all! Will post pics when they come. Thank you.
Dress 2 and 3 not available size 12 so have ordered a 10...which may be a decider!

Definitely dress 1. The others look a bit "prom".

TSSDNCOP · 21/08/2016 18:10

1,2 or 5

I think the split on 2 wouldn't be so OTT if the model wasn't standing with her leg out.

pinkieandperkie · 21/08/2016 18:14

1 and 5

becciandbump · 21/08/2016 18:35

I think dress 1 is the classiest, the sparkles on some of the others seem to make them look like something to wear to a school prom

OrlandaFuriosa · 21/08/2016 19:48

As it's a work do, not 2.

eyeforyourfashion · 21/08/2016 21:24

I think dress 3 is just accurate take into consideration that not always this which look good on picture in reality looks the same and the fabric might be not brilliant.
