having a little henna/bleach based experiment, anyone want to take bets on the results?

So my hair is hennad, short and I decided today I would like to try platinum blond. Am sat here with bleach on my hair first, what are the chances of it actually going blond and not bright orange? Also is it all going to fall out?

mmm...think it will go orange tbh. I think you may need to put a colour over the top of it. Keep us posted!
I henna my hair too but i am sallow and blonde would look shit on me. Goodluck!

blonde will prbably also look shit onme, I have more henna if desperate. I have a silvery colour to put over the top, it's called frosted blonde. It looks quite blonde already

also have purple shampoo

hmm mostly blonde, but with a peachy undertone on the ends. Washing with purple shampoo now to see if that helps.

Hennaed hair does tend to get orangey undertones when bleached. It's a bastard to remove as the peachy colour in henna clings to the hair like nothing else.
Good idea to try neutralising with purple toner.
A good trick for getting henna out is to soak your hair in oil so it's dripping with the stuff and then shampoo out with a good clarifying shampoo (Vosene anti dandruff shampoo is great for removing oils). You 'll need to shampoo a few times to get all the oil out but it will lift the henna.

If you hair is in pretty good nick, go again with the bleach, concentrating on the peachy ends. Good luck

sorry, right the purple shampoo diod nothing, niether did the toner I got.

pic is as was, I do love it but not quite ight enough so I am going for round 2 with the bleach now, hair is short so it can take a bit of hammer. Just nipped out and got the bleach london whote tone kit to do after. (and a rose pink dye for in a few weeks.

You've got a good colour going on at the roots so I think another go with bleach and a bit of toner will sort it right out. I've seen some absolute multi colour disasters when people have put bleach on henna. Yours is luckily fine (pastel colours are very in.)
Your hair looks in good condition. I love the Lee Stafford bleach blonde purple shampoo to keep any brassiness at bay after bleaching.

I have bought the old lady shampoo my mum uses, it was half the price of the lee stafford one, Although I am now really tempted by the bleach london pink shampoo and conditioner although not really sure I can get away with it at work, will test the waters tomorrow.

Think you're going to end up looking spot on with a second application and I love your cut!

Looks great ! I've used bleach to remove henna, had bright red hair and gradually got it to ash blonde then really bright blonde. Your face looks great too

You really really suit it.
Saying that, its a a bit pale orange in the picture but a second application should fix it. It seems in really good condition despite the bleach.

thanks never dull, I will always go back to the henna red which is very similar to my natural colour (when I was younger now its a lot more silver). Just got the conditioning treatment on now then we are done. I may have burnt my ear a bit However at first glance it looks white.

Great job (and took you less than 6 hrs!) A lot of hairdressers refuse to attempt blonde after henna as it's tricky to get right.
It feels great to shake up how you look now and again. I need much less makeup when I've got light hair. Welcome to the blonde side

thanks, I have been faffing with it all day, however I did have an hour and a hlaf trip to the shopping centre to get more bleach in the middle. I am really pleased with it, I think after the next cut it will go properly white.

If you can get it a few shades lighter, have a play with La Riche Directions toners in silver and white. About £3 a pot and they do knock the yellow out of it as well as making your hair nice and soft.

good idea pik, I have used the bright colours in those and know how lovely they are, didn;t know they did toners. This as light as I am goinmg for now but I reckon in 4 weeks after the next cut I will be able to get it lighter.
