I've recently decided to start taking care of myself for the first time better.

Don't worry about the hair, a professional has been notified and will shortly be dealing with it Grin

I'd love some recommendations for a foundation that would cover the pores/acne marks and actually make my skin look smoother.

I tried some of the testers out at boots but I don't really know what I'm doing and they seemed to make my skin look worse.

I'm happy with any other makeup tips going too, I grew up in a family where makeup was frowned on so I never wore it or learned how to.

But fuck it I want to feel pretty for once!

You are so pretty, that you don't need much!

Armani make amazing foundations. Go and have a try at your local department store if they stock it.
You have fantastic eyebrows (jealous - I over plucked mine in my youth), so get them tidied, then use an eyebrow pencil to add definition.

Make your eyes stand out even more with very natural eye makeup and lashings of mascara.

Your lips appear to be very close in colour to Mehr, by Mac. It's my "go to" lip colour when I want to feel polished and not overdone.

Bobbi Brown counters do make up sessions which are free. And I think her products are the best for their overall range.

Have fun!

You have a lovely face. You just need a bit of tinted moisturiser for your face and a bit of mascara, natural cheek tint and lip gloss (Clinique chubby sticks are brilliant and non sticky) or just get the perfect skincare routine (I love dr haushka or Clarins).

Go to a benefit counter, they will do your makeup perfectly, you are young and vibrant and you're very lucky Smile

Wow such great advice, thank you, think I'll be referring to this thread for the next few months!

Blush Thank you also for the compliments, have got some real self esteem issues (hence not bothering to take care if my appearance) and I've got the biggest head I've ever had right now Grin

I'll update with an after picture!
