Maxi dress (sorry!) - do I keep?

It's from Boden but is A-line, I think, so comes in with an elasticated bit under boobs and flows from there. The bit under my boobs is a snug fit, and I am undecided. I am a shorty, just under 5ft 3, and I will probably be wearing it with flat shoes rather than heels.

Keep, looks great!

What size are you wearing OP - just in case one should fall into my basket?

Naicecuppatea · 15/08/2016 21:06

The one I am wearing is a 6 petite cardoon, usually an 8 though.

That's good to know, I've just ordered an 8p...hope I look half as good in it as you do - same pattern too I think, red paisley?

Naicecuppatea · 15/08/2016 21:54

Yes, it is the red paisley! I hope you like it Smile

You look very stylish, as does the room you're in!

I think you have a lovely figure but I don't think this dress is showing it off. Seems a bit big on the waist / middle area. Also I don't know how old you are but I have a feeling this dress (maybe more so the pattern) are a little too old fashioned for you. I know you've had lots of v positive comments but IMHO id say you can do better.

Naicecuppatea · 16/08/2016 09:20

Choc, I think the large flowy bit in the middle was contributing to my doubts. I am 40, but don't really want to look frumpy!

I love it! Definitely keep it, looks great on you.

polyhymnia · 16/08/2016 11:08

Don't think it looks frumpy, just a nice simple dress.

Love it. I think maxis have a bit of a bad rep around here and looking around the playground a few weeks ago I can see why. Lots of voluminous, shapeless horrible ones. But a good quality, well fitting heavy jersey one can be flattering, as this is. I don't think it's old fashioned or drowns you. I have a similar shaped one from Monsoon and I love it as it completely hides what I consider to be a complete wreck of a tummy, without acres of spare fabric.
