How to do 'preppy style'?

I've googled it but can't really find items that make up the staple wardrobe of the preppy style or celebs whose style I can steal 😈 Any suggestions? And also, does the preppy style mean super-groomed ie hair & nails done etc?

I think you can. I'm the same as you and i usually wear black skinny jeans and a Breton or scoop neck tops (can be flattering if you have a bit of a tummy) Usually I tuck my tops into the centre of my trousers or ruffle them up a bit around my tummy to give the illusion of it being flatter than it is! Followed by either ballet pumps or canvas shoes.

Much easier to pull off this style with small boobage.

I have seen boobier preppy types get away with white chiffon/cotton slightly floaty or subtly ruffled tops not tucked in instead.
