How are they bad?
If they are (which I'm sure is not the case) boots can be a blessing.
How about a sturdy high heel, with a stacked base and thick heels?

Booboobedoo · 28/01/2007 16:02

Or Maryjanes - with or without a heel.

Fillyjonk · 28/01/2007 16:08

sturdy high heel interesting. would this not look clumpy? (oh god am not fussy am i?)

boots...can't do them, sorry

spent to long in DMs

boots are...not for me. They would be the final straw of respectability. no offence to boots wearer of which I know there are many many many on MN

moondog · 28/01/2007 16:10

No it wouldn't.
Far better than the Christmas tree look of skirts (especially those that flare out) and puny heels.

You could pick up a pair for next to nowt in somewhere like New Look.Don't they have some quite groovy paptent ones?

moondog · 28/01/2007 16:15

Summat like \link{http://order.next.co.uk/shot.asp?b=X398p=2828s=48n=undefined\this?

moondog · 28/01/2007 16:15

Bollocks

kickassangel · 28/01/2007 16:24

boots are respectable? they are my rebel refusal to wear court shoes with my work clothes. nice, warm comfy boots, knee length, so you never have to wear tights, even with a skirt. tights are the curse of the devil, invented by men because we made them eat the apple.

slayerette · 28/01/2007 16:27

Oh I love my boots! Can't remember the last time I wore shoes, tbh - a knee length skirt and knee high boots can't be beaten!

Miaou · 28/01/2007 16:30

I have mary janes (flat, purple dm ones!) which I wear with a skirt. I think they look great but I'm not the best judge of style and have no fashion sense, so please feel free to ignore me

Fillyjonk · 28/01/2007 16:38

sadly i think mary janes will do me no favours though purple ones sound fiiiiine

i am 30 this year and need to start looking Respectable

but not tooooo respectable

oh god kick me into a pulverised heap now but aren't they rather....um....

mumsy?

OP posts:
Miaou · 28/01/2007 16:40

Oh probably, but at the grand old age of 35 I don't give a toss about looking mumsy now!!!

Booboobedoo · 28/01/2007 16:41

these aren't mumsy - very this season.

Fillyjonk · 28/01/2007 16:45

no they are fab

sorry, typo,

boots = mumsy

mary janes = fab

but they make my ankles look like smallish trees

OP posts:
Booboobedoo · 28/01/2007 16:46

Gotcha.

Fillyjonk · 28/01/2007 16:47

oh god they are fine though

but i am a 6

OP posts:
shonaspurtle · 28/01/2007 16:55

They've got them in a 6 in black .

Not in the sale though.

janeite · 28/01/2007 17:01

LOVE those red shoes! Was going to suggest wedges - but wedge Mary Janes are even better.

janeite · 28/01/2007 17:02

These are rather gorgeous too!

Fillyjonk · 28/01/2007 17:34

dunno about them in black

hmm am uncertain

I do like them and think thats an ok price

(I am, as it so happens, making my going-to-wedding outfit out of a teatowel... so actually need nice shoes really, to make it all look intentional and ironic)

jan-link doesn't work

OP posts:
shonaspurtle · 28/01/2007 18:10

The red ones are nicer...Seem to be discontinued unfortunately.

Fillyjonk · 28/01/2007 18:15

hmm

could cut toes off maybe....

OP posts:
janeite · 28/01/2007 18:16

Sorry.

They are on the Schuh site under high heels, wedges. The black Fly ones. I like the wooden wedge heel. Horribly expensive though.

Fillyjonk · 28/01/2007 18:22

FLY LEVEL BAR PUMP?

I do like those

but am in love with the tiny red ones

OP posts:
hermykne · 28/01/2007 18:23

wedgies
