Nail varnish to get rid of skin tags?

What is supposed to happen? I've been varnishing my little dangler for a week, now, and all that's happened is that it is shiny. Still dangling.

The best thing is to tie it with a piece of cotton really tight. It cuts off the circulation then the skin tag falls off after s few days. I have done a few of DH's.

Tie it with a strand or hair or some dental floss - doctor advised me to do it, they turn black and fall off.

I've done that many times with other tags, but this one is in a place I can only reach with one hand.
