...when that event is a wedding being held on a Welsh campsite at the very end of September?

Very old and dear friend's wedding. The couple are both actors so the place will be bursting with creative, fabulous people and their creative, fabulous outfits. I want to look amazing but also not have wet feet Grin

Wellies and a gingham frock. Might be tempted with victory rolls

Anything from lindybop

cathyandclaire · 03/08/2016 20:38

Depends on your body shape. If you're straight up and down something twenties would look great, if you're more of a curvy hourglass a fifties style dress would look gorgeous, wiggle or fit and flare.
It sounds fabulous.

Oh it sounds amazing!
Like Cathy said, definitely 20's style if you are slim.
I'm very Envy have a fabulous time.

Wales at the end of September? Rainy and cold. Wellies and a vintage coat!

itstheyearzero · 03/08/2016 21:02

Something from here www.nancymac.co.uk, with wellies!

Vintage glam immediately makes me think Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly.

I think I'd wear a wide legged trouser suit and fabulous jewellery like Katharine Hepburn so I could wear mud-appropriate footwear and be warm and smug snug.

ARichVernacular · 03/08/2016 23:13

So many great suggestions, thanks all (especially itstheyearzero as I now want to buy everything from Nancy Mac).

Love the trouser suit idea too. I'm definitely more curve than straight so no lovely 20s fashions for me, unless I decide to go as an antimacassar.

Well jel... I'd be after a gorgeous velvet coat like this, over a Nancy Mac style dress and some sturdy 70's boots....

Look at the images from the Goodwood Revival. That's pretty much vintage glam as done by thousands of people in one weekend.....

Floisme · 04/08/2016 06:53

Given the location, time of year and the shops being full of dungarees, I'd go as a landgirl. For glamour, add a 40s turban, lots of red lipstick and, if it's cold, maybe even a fake fur?

I think I'd go the trouser route too. Either in the style of Katherine Hepburn as mentioned above or as a kind of early 1970s Lauren Hutton Hollywood luxe vibe.

Sounds like it will be a great wedding!
