Talk to be about nose piercing...

Specifically;

(1) Am I too old? I'm 30.
(2) How much does it hurt?
(3) What is aftercare like?
(4) How long after having it done can I change the stud?
(5) If I change my mind after a few months and take out the stud, will the hold heal over? And will it leave a visible mark?
(6) Can I go swimming after I've had it done? Like, the next day?
(7) Where do you actually get it done? Tattoo place?

I want to do this but I'm nervous and naive. Any advice will be very helpful!

I had mine done 20 years ago and it definitely brings tears to your eyes, and I found that my eyes kept being drawn to it so let it heal up after a year or so. Try a stick on one first and see how you get on, and you are definitely not too old!

I had mine done as a teen the first time & it made my mum cry. I let it heal over when I got my first proper full time job as I thought I had outgrown it. I was wrong so I had it done again last year (I'm 40) & I love it. I like the BioFlex studs for a first change as they are kind & softer than a metal stud if you catch it. You can buy BioFlex online, try the Body Jewellery Shop as the postage is quick.

Go for it OP! I love nose piercings with jewel studs.

I've had mine eight years, I never intend to take it out.
If you are near the sea could u swim in there? Salt water will help it!

Yes but what if you get a cold? Sorry OP - don't want to hijack your thread, just wondering if anyone has had problems when they've got an especially runny nose?!

hollieberrie · 18/07/2016 15:31

If I get a cold then I just remember to blow my nose very gently. Tbh I've retrained myself to do that each time I blow anyway. If it's really bad then I take the stud out for a day or two - I've had it years so not much risk of it closing that quickly.

Thanks hollie!
