Wow at the grand old age of 34 I FINALLY received a shed load of Benefit cosmetics for my birthday last week (after many hints)

They are fab! just can't believe the difference. Dreading when they run out though cos I won't be affording to replace em - roll on christmas!!

are they really that good
I have my eye on a few in the range, the lemon aid eye shadow and the face glower things

ipodthereforipoor · 24/01/2007 10:54

lasts forever - and yes, they really are that good!

lemonaid really good just on its own when hungover!

3xamum · 24/01/2007 10:55

Well i got the Lemon Aid, Ooh la la lift for under the eye bags, Eyecon for dark circles (which DP keeps nicking - grr) bad Gal mascara (my lashes have never been so long), face powder (the name escapes me) which I'm hardly having to reapply, a higlighter and concealer. Apart from the concealer being the wrong shade everything else is working a treat!

Want a job with them now - lol

the little things they do are great
the under eyebrow pencil, the brow zings, the ooh la lift
Top stuff

decafskinnylatte · 24/01/2007 10:56

ooh yes - never without my dandelion & highbeam!

MrsBadger · 24/01/2007 10:57

LemonAid and the 'Boi-ing' concealer are fabulous - together they take me from haggard wreck to passabley human, but I find both take a bit of warming up to go on smoothly... maybe my bedroom is a bit cold.

I always resented spending alot on cosmetics but these guys are worth it.

I bought my two sisters the glow stuff(Hollywood glow??) for Christmas and they both are raving about it. In fact my dsis who makes tv programmes was trying to get her mid 50's male presenter to wear it for filming! I just have to buy it for myself now.

and now thanks to them so do I Cod

Carmenere · 24/01/2007 11:06

One of the things I'm not mad about is their packaging as when I spend a lot of cosmetics I really like having good packaging(ie Chanel, YSL, Guerlain, even Clarins). I think they are let down by cheap card packaging.

eyecon sounds very good and what I need just now, dd asked what the dark marks under my eyes were the other day, 5 yr old showing concern?

and I turned 34 last week too, so they must be just what I need , how expensive are you talking?

Yep teenage is def what I'm aiming for icod

Carmenere agree the packagings not the best but as I neveer take my makeup out anymore (handbag with £80 worth of make-up in stolen!) I can safely hide it in my bedroom

MrsBadger · 24/01/2007 11:11

I always think (naively) the card packaging means they must spend more money on the contents.

Eg I have a gorgeous eyeshadow palette from Stila but it's leather and closes with an actual buckle - hate to think what % of the price went on that compared to on the eyeshadow...

expatinscotland · 24/01/2007 11:11

Lemon Aid and Boooing ROCK!

Bagpuss30 · 24/01/2007 11:18

Lemon Aid and Dandelion here also. Never go out of the house without wearing them .

Lorina · 24/01/2007 11:21

Definitely not aimed at teenagers. More like woman in 20's and 30's .Too expensive for kids.
Bad gal is mascara excellent. Lip plump is so-so. Although I've never really found a lip plump that does work

AeFondKiss · 24/01/2007 11:22

lemon aid versus eyecon or both for diff things?

what is boing?

sweetmonkey · 24/01/2007 11:27

i had a few benefit products but had a makeover last week with them so bought some more bits.

the hoola bronzer, and their new foundation is good. cant think of the name but it looks like a record.

i swear by their doctor feelgood lip pack.

you get a tube of lip beads which exfoliates and a balm to put on after .i just use the balm on its own and its lovely

if you want a lip plumper i found this really good

soap and glory

MrsBadger · 24/01/2007 12:18

Lemon Aid is makeup that goes on your eyelids to stop them looking red, purple and/or puffy, and makes whites of eye seem less bloodshot.

Eye-con is an eye cream (not makeup) that's meant to fade dark circles.

Boi-ing is creamy concealer that hides dark circles but won't cure them.

Have been meaning to try the new foundation that looks like a record ('Some Kinda Gorgeous' I think) as have heard v good things about it but haven't managed to drag myself to Debenhams yet.

All the info here .

sweetmonkey · 24/01/2007 12:22

Mrsbadger thats what i have the record one, somethin kinda gorgeous and have to say it is actually very good.

i use the doctor feelgood first and then apply that and it really does look nice.

ipodthereforipoor · 24/01/2007 13:21

That stuff is amazing - best christmas present to myself this year.

Am sure it was responsible for pulling new man you know
