How do you get GAP polo necks on 1yr old without breaking his neck????

Just bought a couple of these in the GAP sale, thought they would be great for when we go skiing to keep DS neck warm..but how do they go on?? I bought age 18-24 months too. Does this mean my DS has an unfeasibly large head??

Any suggestions...do they soften with washing?

I never bought them for babies, they were just too much of a PITA to get on!
Have you tried stretching the neck with your hands first/

have you tried stretching them a bit before putting them on? or maybe that is why they were in the sale? if they are ridiculously small you could take them back, small children do have large heads.

I tried stretching to no avail...took them back last week and got the money back. Also left a comment in their comments book letting them know of fundamental design fault!!!

were they the ones with the poppers at the shoulder on one side?

I bought one of them last winter for ds - it was the 6-12 mths size and was great and still fits him now (19mths) so I bought two more this winter in 18-24mths size.

The new bigger size ones barely fit over his huge heed whereas the smaller one fits fine......

hmmmmm

Love gap sale stuff tho - so many bargains!
