With the exchange rates so good, has anyone bought from Boden's US website?

Site here . I just wondered whether it would be worth it or not? Can't get my head round whether the prices are better or not. The delivery charge is quite high (to cover sending to the US), but it comes from the UK, so no import taxes (or whatever the technical term is).

the dress i like is £79 on the uk site, $128 on usa one, converts to £64.50 ish.

still can't afford it

JackieNo · 23/01/2007 22:17

Plus $10 for postage. I would have thought the stock would be the same, but I noticed in the mini boden catalogue 2 of the blurbs saying 'people have been buying these pyjamas from our US website, so we've brought them to the UK'. Wonder if there's anything else that they don't have on the UK one.

Well I saw this thread and tried to place an order with Bodenusa.com. Great prices !

Unfortunately, unlike the UK site, it's for the US only, as there's a drop down menu to choose a State on the address page. I couldn't override it , though interestingly it accepted my UK postcode in the zipcode box (not a drop down menu obviously, but still...).

I suppose one could risk "choosing" a US State, and just hope the UK postman/courier would ignore it when delivering the goods. Not a risk I'd take. Has anyone tried this ?

Hav placed my summer order with my sis in America.....

JackieNo · 27/01/2007 21:34

Interesting. It must be possible somehow, because the reason I posted this in the first place was the bit in the mini Boden catalogue that said (in the description of some of the pyjamas) 'Cyber-happy UK customers were already buying these from the US website, so we're offering them to all our customers worldwide...' Don't know how you'd get round it - might it be worth emailing them to ask?

The other thing I noticed on the US site was that, under their terms and conditions, they said it was for "USA and UK customers". However I still couldn't override the address problem. I don't have any relatives in the States .

Oh well, never mind. But 10% off and free returns really doesn't cut it any more .

I'm in the US and happy to help folks if they want to order from the US Boden! I can have orders sent here to me, then I will post them on to the UK at cheapest postage (obviously have to work out if it would all be cheaper or not to do it this way) CAT me if you're interested.
