...So what do I do? I'm not allowing her to wear them - obsessed with her electrocuting herself on a combo of damp soles and inbuilt battery. Other fear: battery rusts/leaks and she gets burns on feet. Am I mad? Had a big go at DH (last week he machine-washed her leather mocassins and they SHRANK ). Reason for doing this: "I don't like mud". It's Winter ffs. Grr.

They'll be fine. Trust me

Shoes are designed to get a bit wet - you are worrying too much!

Fimbo · 22/01/2007 13:24

I did this with dd's flashing trainers - they are fine and more importantly she is fine

Sheraz · 22/01/2007 13:25

Wash flashing trainers all the time - no probs. Doesn't slow them down.

RustyBear · 22/01/2007 13:27

She couldn't possibly electrocute herself with a battery that size - otherwise there'd be kids dropping on all sides as soon as they walked through a puddle!

misdee · 22/01/2007 13:27

they will be fine. the flashing part is in a enclosed box that is waterproof.

how do i know? brother tooks his flashing box out when his trainers had worn out.

so yes you are mad.

Lorina · 22/01/2007 13:28

I've washed flashing trainers and they were fine.

Really dont think you need to worry about the risk of electroction ,after all they wear them through puddles and rain.

Sheraz · 22/01/2007 13:28

LOL rusty! Voice of reason!!

toadstool · 22/01/2007 13:30

LOL, so I am mad!! I'll allow her to put them on and wade through torrents of mud forthwith! Thank you all -
