I always think of lancome as being for very old ladies. That looks a bit like a very old ladies idea of what a young person might like.
Not my cup of tea really

Lorina · 22/01/2007 11:53

I will investigate next time I go to Debenhams

MimmyPig · 22/01/2007 11:55

Lancome make up is fantastic - I love their mascara and lip gloss (it's a 'star bronzer' one, not juicy tubes). I got some nice eyeshadows from there the other day (and got a nice bundle of freebies with them!).

Cod - any recommendations for a blusher for evening - something a bit 'glittery' - or do you think not for a 34 year old?!

(tis gdg)

MimmyPig · 22/01/2007 11:57

Mind you, I do buy old women's make up! I use Estee Lauder foundation and face wash! Ha ha! Ah well, nobody can tell from your face can they?!

expatinscotland · 22/01/2007 11:58

Those colours aren't well suited to olive skin. Which is what I've got, despite being pretty fair-complected.

fishie · 22/01/2007 11:58

it is really marvellous, i put some on to go to corner shop last night and two men looked at me. (this does not happen often). dp got jealous too, so well worth £12 just for that it is not sticky which is essential as i have messy hair.

i am pale and would look proper mutton in that eyeshadow. blusher nice, but have you seen new maybelline mousse in plum? bargain £5.

CODNoMore · 22/01/2007 11:59

yes deffo the mac one if oyu can get one
imo for blusher think careully about what colour suits you - for eg pink is better for me than tawny shade or a brick colour BUT if htose shades suit you better get that one
dont go fro a neutral plum thinking it will suit you unless oyu knwo that that shade does.

the mac one is VERY slightly irridesncet and cream is so much more youthful a than powder.

gloss is good for making oyur face light up and eyes look brighter imo

OP posts:
CODNoMore · 22/01/2007 12:01

note gdgd when oyu click on some they are " pink wiht pearl" its the pearl that is fgood imo

tigertiger · 22/01/2007 12:03

benefit do some good powders that have a slight sparkle in them that just seems to make your skin kind of 'glow' but without looking like you have piled on the make-up

Tutter · 22/01/2007 12:04

note:

only if you have good skin should you use any make up that is pearlesent

(here speaketh the mouse that has pregnant hormonal skin) (matt make-up a must)

Tutter · 22/01/2007 12:05

tigertiger - they also do something called moonbeam (i think) that is a lovely goldy shimmer - can go on top of other make-up to give a nice warm glow - cheekbones, eyes etc

CODNoMore · 22/01/2007 12:06

yes and clinique do a hting "all over lustre" that i mix into make up sometimes

was afraid you might say that - i use max factor, the kind that adapts to your skin tone - can't remember the name. is pretty good though a little goes a looong way so it lasts for yonks
