Just that really.

How often do you clean yours and what with?

Don't liquid foundation crust on the brush if not cleansed afterwards?

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 28/06/2016 16:04

Not ime.

Cool - no it doesn't.

I wash my eyeshadow brushes when I've used something dark and my foundation brush when I can be arsed, maybe every three months. I should do it far more often.

So inspired in part by this and in part by a Buzzfeed post on FB about cleaning beauty blenders, I have washed my brushes.

I used oil and washing up liquid and honestly I've never seen my brushes so clean. I bought some of the posh Real Techniques ones second hand, and although they'd clearly been washed, they still had some staining on them. This got it off!

Can't promise this will make me wash them more often though Grin

Sparkly clean there. How did you use oil?

dudsville Shock

I used to use Mac brush cleaner - about once a month (maybe a little longer) but I actually find that a bit greasy and Carex hand wash does a quicker and better job.

FeliciaJollygoodfellow · 29/06/2016 00:54

Just squirted a bit in a dish and swirled the brush in. Kind of emulsified. It was about the same ratio oil to washing up liquid.

Tbh I was surprised, I'm not really sure why the oil would do anything? Maybe it's just the dish soap?

FeliciaJollygoodfellow · 29/06/2016 09:27

I've now remembered why I don't wash my brushes very often.

Because they're still not dry!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 29/06/2016 09:46

Do you blot them really hard with a towel?

user1465823522 · 29/06/2016 09:51

i wash mine with shampoo and lukewarm water every week / 2 weeks and let them air dry

areyoutheregoditsmemargaret · 29/06/2016 09:53

I clean them every month or so, part of the ritual when I am going away for the night and so they have a chance to dry out before I come back. I use Clinique brush cleaner, but shampoo is fine.

FeliciaJollygoodfellow · 29/06/2016 19:56

Dame - I did, but I'm wary of twisting or blotting too hard because I've ruined brushes like that before. They were cheap, the ones I've got now are not.

Not a biggy really though - I had all day to wash them I just chose to do it at 830!
