Really excited..just bought a lovely Karen Millen Black dress on ebay which I really hopes fits! Bodice top with straps and fullish kind of a line skirt to the knee with bit of net at bottom and pink flowers. Sorry hopeless with links! I am fairly pear shaped so i hope it will be flattering! Now..the shoes..what sort..shoes? Sandals? Don't want to murder the look with the wrong footwear..any advice?

Any idea of a photo or link to it?

Sheila · 22/01/2007 12:45

Just spotted this. I'm no fashion guru but I'm also pear-shaped and a lover of prom dresses. I'd definitely go for a heel to lengthen the leg, but not too clunky a heel. Is it a daytime dress or for the eveing? Also what colour?

wurlywurly · 22/01/2007 12:47

picture please.

winniewoo · 22/01/2007 13:14

How..oh..how....... can I do a picture? Can't even get it now that's it's bought and off ebay. I am sure you all have enough to do without doing this.........but if you search in ebay under "karen millen prom dress" the black one with bustier and net at the top is the right shape although my dress does not have sheer bit and instead has straps. Any good..?

agree heels needed - kitten will do if you have Heel Issues - but def nothing with an ankle strap.

winniewoo · 22/01/2007 18:18

Thanks Mrs Badger! No..can do high heels...am I staying clear of strappy sandals too..more a shoe or slingback with peeptoe?

winnie do you have a catalogue??

If it was me i would order a couple of different pairs of shoes and then try them all on with the dress to see which you think looks best, or even if you borrow pairs of shoes from sister/friend/cousins to try on with your dress.

wurlywurly · 22/01/2007 18:37

sorry forgot to add all the ones you dont like from catalogue you can return same with the ones you borrow.

winniewoo · 22/01/2007 19:42

wurlywurly..you're a star! Got the Next Directory and quite good at ordering from there or Debenhams or Marks!! Just needed to be pointed in the right direction of which type of shoes! Do appreciate your help!
