Just that - yes, or no, hate or love?

Didn't mean snakeskin in general - that bag just looks cheap. Sorry. I like plaiting too - just been around for a while and wonder at its longevity. I think I prefer it in bigger tote type bags. Much prefer the R and B one. Everyday for me has to be grab and go with whatever I'm wearing. I just think it's maybe got a bit much detail on to enjoy for a long time and it looks a bit shiny. But that's just me.

Looooove the first one. It's gorgeous. Not keen on the 2nd one.
Try knomo - they have lovely bags and great quality. I have a few and am always complimented on them.

In answer to your question - beautiful bag no. 1 Smile

Liked both initially as I love woven leather, tassels & snakeskin print. After more detailed look decided the tassels are too big & detract from the bag itself. Would also need to see the R&B in the flesh as I am really picky on shades of tan. Not keen on how the outside pocket on the Village bag is attached - it just looks slightly odd to me and not keen on antiqued hardware - it always looks as though it is a bit grubby to me. Think R&B sale starts in 2 weeks time so a good time to check out their bags; Jaeger sale is on & they have great quality bags - their city bag looks great although maybe a bit dull. One other thing - don't think I would go for woven leather for an everyday bag as the structure means that cleaning creams take longer to dry than non-woven & sometimes I only have time for a quick rub over with cleaning cream before a a rushed breakfast & a bag still a bit sticky with cleaning cream would be very tiresome.

Uterque have some gorgeous bags in their sale (www.uterque.com) but unehelpfully you can't sort on items in stock.

Thanks for the suggestions - will follow up.

I much prefer the style and shape of the second one but not the snakeskin. It would be lovely in tan/grey/bright block colour.

polyhymnia · 20/06/2016 00:02

Yes, I agree but alas it doesn't come in grey or tan.

No, neither, keep looking, both too fussy for an everyday bag.

WanderingTrolley1 · 20/06/2016 04:37

They're both awful, but if I were forced, I'd go for the 2nd bag.

Mominatrix · 20/06/2016 05:50

Sorry - don't like either bag. They both look cheap and really are not that versatile.

SpeakerOfTheHouse · 20/06/2016 08:45

hate both....

dirtyprettything · 20/06/2016 10:06

The Oxford leather duffle from Jaeger is lovely and £200

I have 2 jaeger bags and quality is excellent

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 20/06/2016 10:08

First not second!

calzone · 20/06/2016 10:14

Love the Accessorize bag......not the others.

LaCerbiatta · 20/06/2016 10:38

Blimey, people being a bit mean today, no??

Love the 1st one, classic enough for an everyday bag I think.

polyhymnia · 20/06/2016 11:04

Not really mean. I did ask 'love or hate' in the OP and they're giving their views. Only one slightly mean and not very comprehensible comment early on in the thread.

But, though I don't have any special attachment to the second bag, I'm glad that at least some people like the first!

I bought this the other day OP

www.cathkidston.com/bags-/mini-leather-giles-handbag-1018267

I have to say it's lovely. Really good quality leather and despite being compact, it fits everything in that I need to carry on a daily basis.

Floisme · 20/06/2016 11:35

I'm not keen on either I'm afraid - they've both got too much going on for me. But I like my bags plain and functional. The Accessorise link on the first page is more my thing.

lucy101101 · 20/06/2016 11:39

I think the first one would be a really good everyday bag. I don't like the second at all...

polyhymnia · 20/06/2016 12:39

Thanks for further comments. The Cath Kidston bag is nice, but smaller than I want.

As said upthread, I also like the Accesorize bag, but don't want a tote this time - if I did, I'd have had a good choice in the shops I usually shop in. Also, I personally prefer real leather.
