Is this a highlight disaster?

I decided to go back to blonde after being my natural colour for a couple of years, asked for highlights (as that's what I'd always had before) and left feeling pretty unsettled. Some hair seems to be ginger and and my roots seem rather big to me. Is this the norm or should I go back and complain?

Please excuse the red scalp, it's always looked like that.

Oh yeah forgot to mention I changed my name the other day!

Just as a heads up (fellow highlighter) - make sure they do not do it blocky any more (where it blends into one colour), if they do ask for a darker colour to be put through to break it up.

Also don't be shy about asking for fine highlights, which is what I think you want, some colorists either don't like doing this or don't have the patience to do this, but one salon will generally have one colorist or stylist who's really good and patient about doing fine highlights, ask for her/him!

I had an Interesting time re my stylist (also a good friend) had done something which I'd asked her to do but not warned me re a regrowth stripe if you get my drift, it took another colorist at different salon (didn't go there on purpose my usual stylist had broken her ankle so couldn't do my hair anyway. Plus small salon so no one else about to do my hair!) to tell me what I knew and put it right. I wish my original stylist had been honest with me rather than do what I wanted and not explain!

That is a lot of root left uncoloured. I'm glad you got the refund and hope you end up with what you want, if you're paying then you deserve to be happy.
