Holiday Treats - If you only travel with cabin bag...

Nothing more than 100 mls obviously. It's difficult to find lovely toiletries in small sizes. I dislike all those little travel size bits in Superdrug etc.

What do you treat yourself to to that makes you feel really special on holiday?

Lush solid shampoo, conditioner and serum bar. You can cut a bit off a big bar and it doesn't have to go in the liquids bag.

Buy small plastic bottles and decant my usual toiletries. I do this all the time. I travel a lot for work.

I just read the reviews online for the Lush serum bar, how have I missed this? It sounds lovely. I'll definitely pop in and see if I can sample a little bit. Great idea! Thanks

I've thought about the plastic bottles too but like the idea of some special holiday bits. I love different smells when we're away.

M&S have lots too - eg Philip Kingsley shampoos, Nuxe, REN.

Brilliant suggestions! I'd overlooked M&S (as I usually do!) but I'll definitely have a scope round in there.

I use the Emma Hardie cleansing balm anyway and have a 50ml one which I top up for travelling. Everything else I decant into pots and bottles. IKEA do bright coloured 50ml bottles which are great - I just write on them with a sharp what's in them.

The M&S Beauty box , available for £10 with a purchase of £40 this weekend only is lovely , loads of travel size products !

I keep an eye out for the Clarins "free with purchase" sets where they give you 5 decent size samples. Do a trawl of department stores & ask for samples - Origins & Clinique very good for this. Also I keep sachets from mags/pick up copies of mags that have travel size freebies. Normally though, use my Boots points to grab travel sizes or if going to Europe/States just grab stuff when I get there cos I love new drugstore explorations & chuck in an extra frock. Leave the extra for the housekeeper/cleaner with a note that it's "barely used", hopefully they make use of it!

L'Occitane Shea soap (milk or verbena)
Nuxe Oil (IIRC there's one in the M&S box)

I have a couple of those OGX shampoo/conditioners in the coconut but I might need to work my way through the collection

M&S have Pixi Glo tonic for £10 ( 100ml)

I like all little mini bottles rather than decant into travel bottles.

Oh, yes I got a cleanser freebie with a magazine a couple of months ago.

This month I saw an Elemis gift (night or day cream I think. I was trying to turn the tube round without looking like I was trying to steal it - one of my top bugbears is free gift theft)
And there was an Eyeko gift in another.

Clinique do a lovely set of their products in travel sizes but I think it's an airport exclusive so you'd have to cross your fingers that they had it in duty free wherever you were travelling from. I use that for my face products and decant my shampoo and conditioner into small bottles.

I agree with the 70 who said she prefers to buy mini bottles rather than decant. When I decant I forget what's in what bottle and end up chucking gone off stuff away, thereby negating any savings. (I also entirely approve of her attitude to driving on motorways).

I just got the M&S beauty box and a lot of that will be coming away with me next month.

You can order from boots whatever you want to collect in store - choose the airport store, airside obviously. You can't bring them back home but at least you can use your nice normal stuff while away. Often cheaper than buying them small travel bottles! Plus cause it's considered duty free doesn't have to be squashed in your case!

Hawleybits, friend at work told me. It's brilliant as you can choose what you want online in peace and collect once checked in and all the stressy bits like security are done. Plus they have full range of everything where I usually find the airport boots a bit limited.

Rockelburger that's brilliant and so useful for suncream etc where you are likely to use loads. Also things like nappies if they don't have to fit into your baggage allowance.

Superdrug also allow you to preorder stuff - was a godsend for nappies, formula, baby food etc. Though to be honest they weren't much more expensive you just don't get the special offers but better than having the weight in your case!
