Bikini wax for first time - what do I need to know?

I'm embarrassed to say that I'm almost 40 and don't know what a bikini wax involves Blush I decided I should probably give it a go so what do I need to know? do I trim the hair being waxed first? what happens when I get there?

Don't go just before your period, it will hurt more. stretch your skin as much as you can. Comfy cotton knickers

Definitely trim, long hair is infinitely more painful. Wear knickers you don't mind getting 'waxy'. I've started taking a book, easier than grimacing and waiting for each pull. And yes, ask for the hot 'non strip' wax, it doesn't seem to stick to the skin as much and so seems much gentler.

Also, I find leg waxing SO much more painful than bikini.
