How can I look bit more 'edgy'

I'm early 40s and this is possibly a mid-life crisis kicking off Grin but I'd love to look a little bit more edgy - I can't think of a better word to describe it but basically not quite like everyone else. I think there's a danger though of just looking a bit sad and whispers cheap.

My style is fairly casual, I'm shortish and curvy. I don't want to go down the full-on vintage/pin-up/big dresses from Lady V route which I know would probably fit the brief although I do like a few vintage inspired bits especially the odd unusual pattern.

I've got very short hair but I think it's looking a bit meh these days, definitely don't want to grow it but am wondering about a more flattering style that won't make me look like Kris Jenner.

Can anyone suggest any small updates to give me a bit more of an 'edge' without making me look like a complete fool?

Oh dear, it'll be a face tattoo next... Grin
I don't think a nose piercing is desperate, it's great you want to look a bit different. I saw someone with a tiny sliver piercing in the bit of cartilage covering their ear hole, if you can imagine that and thought it looked cool.

I used to have my nose pierced and loved it.

You could go for edgy accessorizing? Grin

Classic styling but add a studded bag or boots? Something like the Valentino Rockstud?

I quite fancy a nose piercing! I'm 51 & have pierced ears with two holes in the left ear - I hardly ever use the second hole Grin

There's a woman in the choir I go to aged around late 30s / 40 who has a teeny tiny nose stud like a twinkly blackhead & I think it looks great!

DS 18 would probably disown me!

I have a nose piercing, I buy studs from the bodyjewellery site, it also has a forum.

Don't fiddle with a fresh piercing and don't twist the stud, it grinds surface dirt into an open wound Smile

My piercing is on the side of my nose, it's not a septum piercing.

That's a coincidence LaBelleOtero, I've just been looking at Rockstud-alikes on ASOS!

Having had a day to get used to it I am even more delighted with my nose piercing, it's exactly what I needed and just makes me feel like 'me' but better :) It's in the side of my nose and looks very delicate, will be even better when I can change the piercing stud for a smaller one.

I was surprised that DD14 didn't disown me, she actually admitted it looked good!

Hooray for nose piercings!

OP I recommend you swap it for a small ring when it's healed. I think rings look way cooler (Wink) than studs... mine is rose gold and I adore it!
