Fancy a pair to wear with skinny jeans and tshirts as a an alternative to flip flops or loafers.

Will I look like I'm trying to dress too yoofull?

Thanks Derek.

I'll be ordering a pair, to heck with the naysayers.

Can I just ask, are they more comfy than the canvas and how's the sizing? My CT low tops fit me but rubbed my toes.

I too have the feet of a child (size 3) but they are like bricks, so are quite wide Confused

I will let you know how I get on!

dereks right, anyone can wear converse at any age. don't worry about naysayers, just buy what you love, age is just an number to keep track of years, it has no bearing on your fashion choices at all. buy them, wear them, love them !!

omri · 05/06/2016 23:22

Go for it - you can't go wrong with them in my opinion.

notagiraffe · 05/06/2016 23:25

Get them.
And read this Grin

RonSwansonsBestFriend · 05/06/2016 23:27

Ordered! Thanks all, excited about my purchase, think they will fill the 'summer footwear gap' you know, when it's too cold/wet for flip flops but not enough for loafers or darker trainers.......I need a new shoe cupboard......

I'm 49 and wore my grey converse high tops today, I've never considered I may be too old and I'd be shocked if anyone thought it tbh. They're pretty inoffensive.

PhylumChordata · 05/06/2016 23:42

Not too old.

37, and I just bought white leather hi-tops :)

I have found the solution for painful Converse feet - buy a size bigger!

Lipgloss74 · 06/06/2016 06:06

I'm nearly 42 and have 5 pairs of converse but never had high tops yet. My black glittery ones are great for casual lunches ect, and white leather ones great for summer. If your buying a size bigger try ortho insoles, I find converse quite flat and need the arch support.

Floisme · 06/06/2016 09:14

I've worn converse, on and off, since the 80s - and they weren't new then. They're about as youthful as hairnets.

MrsJayy · 06/06/2016 09:17

The hightops hurt my ankles but i wear black leather ones they are really comfy and any age can wear them

I have child feet as well (2) they are the only shoes that come in the same unisex styles adult and child that i can be assured that dont have flowers and bows on

SauvignonPlonker · 06/06/2016 10:16

I'm mid-40's & wear the Lux wedge-style. They make me look 5'3" Grin

Love them, soooo comfortable.

Ludways · 06/06/2016 10:34

I had my first pair of converse in the mid 70's, so begone with you youths, seeing our cool shit and trying to steal it. Stand up you 50 somethings and 40 somethings, take back what's yours and wear with pride!!

RonSwansonsBestFriend · 06/06/2016 10:39

Brilliantly put Ludways Grin

Young people - go and invent your own stuff, like we had to!

RonSwansonsBestFriend · 06/06/2016 11:02

I remember my mum saying things like 'I wore that skirt' or 'this music is from my era' and I thought 'yeah, right'

Now my kids listen to dance music and I have to stop myself from repeating 'I was there, right there when house music was born, this belongs to us, you know nothing....'
