ok, my problem

wedding party to attend next sat (evening bit)

wedding was a month ago and small, just for family - this is the party bit for everyone. is in a pub - a nice pub, but still a pub, so needn't be uber-swanky outfit

am 13wks pg and - alarmingly - already heiferesque

normally 12-14 and deffo apple shaped - i.e. good legs and arms, godawful midriff, smallish norks

ideally i'd like a dress that i can wear with boots (so not to be overdressed given venue)

colouring is what used to be called 'soft autumn' by the colour ponces - i.e. mid-brown hair and hazel eyes - never wear black - prefer browns, golds, greens etc

what about something like this - bootom right thumbnail pic - the chrysanthemum jersey wrap dress.
or maybe a pretty draped jersey-knit top and a pencil skirt - would be slimming if you are feeling "heiferesque" lol

Tutter · 17/01/2007 18:08

have never done pencil skirts but could work- am a bit nervous of skirts and tops - worry i'll look like a teacher/air stewardess

i have a wrap dress - makes me look even wider around middle i find

phase eight just a little too conservative for me i think

sorry - have just shot down your suggestions - i am grateful, honestly

not to worry - I have no idea how you would normally dress so any suggestions are a bit of a stab in the dark - that said, there are some very pretty Empire- line dresses out at the moment which would work and you could also try a pretty caftan or beaded tunic with some smart trousers -

Tutter · 17/01/2007 18:28

yes, i do like the tunic + trews look

to give you a clue, the last things i bought were from topshop and reiss

apart from the colour, i quite like this but it's out of stock in my size anyway

warehouse.co.uk have some lovely floaty chiffony type dresses that may work - sorry, can't get it to link, but have a look and see what you think - draped necklines are always pretty as they emphasise cleavage and draw the eye away from the waist - pretty v-necked things do that too!
