Anyone know where I can get a NICE BRIGHT RAINCOAT for dd??

DD has a dance/nursey rhyme concert at the beginning of Feb (actually I think the last wknd of Jan & 1st wknd of Feb) & her nursery rhyme is "here we go round the mulberry bush". her dance teacher told us to dress them up like it's a cold & frosty morning. I was ill on Sundy & that is when the dress rehearsal was... dd wore an old coat, a hat she wears to school & a scarf.. & a pair of wellies she wears down the yard (farmers!)

My sister took dd for me & when she came back she said dd looked really out of place in a big winter coat & school hat etc.. obv the other mums all talk to each other & take things like co-ordination really seriously as most of the other kids in her groip had on brightly coloured rain coats, hats & wellies!!!!

Well, I'll wash her muddy wellies but am willing to buy her a raincoat, possibly a hat, if she will look like everyone else (I never do this, but my sis said she looked like a scruffy orphan compared to the others )

Now, does anyone know where I can find a raincoat/hat combo at, in bright colours, not too expensive. Seems a bit daft that people would send their kids out in raincoats dressed for a "cold & frosty morning" but there ya go!! & I'd need them delivered v.soon as I'm ill & not yet able to walk round town..... Can anyone point me in the right direction?? Have checked Adams & Next websites, but nothing doing!! TIA

Will look. How old is she?

JackieNo · 17/01/2007 13:19

Millets do some (including some in the sale).

castlesintheair · 17/01/2007 13:24

I saw one very briefly in a Next store yesterday (wasn't really looking). It might not be on their website as they are usually a season ahead? It was pink PVC, with what looked like big strawberries on it. About £12 with a hood & matching wellies I think.

Woolworths have coats, but not really macs. Again, in the sale.

mumatuks · 17/01/2007 13:29

Have you tried Vertbaudet?

here

Fireflyfairy2 · 17/01/2007 13:37

She is 5 but a big five! So i'd buy either 5/6 or 6/7.

My sister goes past woolies on her way home so I may get her to stop & see what they have!!

Thanks ever so much!

The one in Next sounds lovely too!
A nice one on vertbaudet but when I called to order the guy said it could take 8-10 working days & I don't want to wait that long, as I'd like to have it for either Saturday or Monday.

Next do have a couple of things:

a cagoule (bottom right),
a mac, with matching umbrella (middle of top row)
But only up to age 4/5.

JackieNo · 17/01/2007 13:40

If you really can't find anything, DD has a pink flowery mac with matching rain hat which fits her fine (she's just turned 7). CAT me and would be happy to lend it to you. Am at work at the moment, so can't pick up emails, but back home later (after 3.15-ish).

Fireflyfairy2 · 17/01/2007 13:44

Either of those would have been lovely, but wouldn't have fitted her. Thanks for the lovely offer Jackie, how kind! I have text my sister & she has offered to look in Next & Woolies on her way home from work..

No worries - let me know if she draws a blank.

Hulababy · 17/01/2007 13:50

The Disney Shop have some nice bright raincoats.

Fireflyfairy2 · 17/01/2007 18:36

Thanks all

My sister got her a raincoat & a pair of wellies for £16! Excellent!! They are from Dunnes Stores.. Not sure if they are just in Ireland though? Lovely pink & orange & bright blues... hearts & spots & flowers, it sounds Jazzy but it's beautiful... & the wellies match!!

Kiddorable do some lovely macs/wellies/umbrellas. I've seen them in a few garden centres and also in the blooming marvellous catalogue.

PinkTulips · 17/01/2007 23:56

Fireflyfairy2 · 17/01/2007 23:57

Aw thanks, will keep a wee eye out incase I ever need one again!!

She loved them when she came home Had to get trying them on & doing her singing! A star in the making.. now she doesn't look like a scruffy orphan anymore

hi,
I got my daughter a lovely raincoat by Wipette, its quite long and that shiney material, where the water just runs off.
I got it in TK max, but have seen them on a few sites if u do a search, its a generous size too.
