I love it, but it would be daft to keep it, wouldnt it? ( but its so fab on...)

Antonella skirt

I was going to say if it makes you happy keep it, you're unlikely to find something as original as this in a nice fabric again any time soon but... it's dry clean only and that would kill it for me, though skirts don't tend to get dirty all that quickly. Not helpful at all...

Alternatively if they have a generous return period you can keep it and hope it gets discounted in that time to claim a discount and otherwise return it by the end of the returns period if you still find it too expensive.

KanyesVest · 31/05/2016 18:24

I've really regretted not buying/keeping a couple of pieces I really loved. If you don't have to sell a kidney to pay the bills, I say keep it.

Laska5772 · 31/05/2016 18:24

I was wondering about the dry clean bit also .. , but as it its cotton /poly I was wondering if i could possibly get away with washing it on a gentle wash and steam pressing..

I have a Stella McCartney skirt that has worked out at £100 a wear .

Keep it Grin

KanyesVest · 31/05/2016 18:34

It's poly cotton?? Screw drycleaning, that's just ass covering labelling IMO.

Quietattheback · 31/05/2016 18:40

My friend worked for years in a dry cleaners and always said that about 70% of stuff that said dry clean only, could go in the wash on cold/delicate.

tethersend · 31/05/2016 18:41

similar but cheaper

botemp · 31/05/2016 18:42

I think it's more of an issue to keep the pleats stiff and neatly pressed than that the actual fabric requires the dry cleaning only instructions. I wouldn't put in the washing machine due to the spin cycle (unless you can switch it off) but I think a hand wash and a careful pressing might do it, though for all that effort I'd send it to the dry cleaners, unless you get really sweaty around the waist you won't need to send it out often if you steam clean it with an iron and a quick air dry after each wear.

Go crazy, keep it Grin!

PestilentialCat · 31/05/2016 18:45

horizontal stripes - hmm - are you sure it's fab on? Grin

love the shape though Smile

don't like the M&S one

freshprincess · 31/05/2016 18:46

I'd never manage to keep the pleats in it or take it to the dry cleaners.

Could you justify it for work?

Laska5772 · 31/05/2016 18:46

Yes , : 80% cotton 20% polyester
Lining: 100% polyester

Its a really thick fabric, but not over heavy ..

I definately think ill keep it .. (I do have the £)

It seems to me like a classic skirt (maybe a little bit Audrey?).. I reckon I will regret it also Kaynes ( just needed you lovely Mners to tell me i m not being too indulgent ..Wink

So where to I get Dh to take me ? Grin ,The Races? , A garden party?, (a bit out of my league perhaps ) .. Its a bit too posh for my office job..

It's lovely, just get it! You could wear it to work. I got a similar one from Damsel in a Dress last month, which I wear to work with a black sleeveless top. Not today, obviously, because it is freezing.

LadyAntonella · 31/05/2016 18:49

What an excellent name for a skirt! Grin

Yes, keep it OP. I so rarely find clothes which I really love, would be a shame not to keep it really.

pnutter · 31/05/2016 18:50

Keep it and wear it ! It's gorgeous

Laska5772 · 31/05/2016 18:54

OH yes it is fab ,

sorry Teathers I dont like the M&S one either

bo temp a good point about the pleats .. and the spin cycle it may have to be steam press and the dry cleaners once in a while . Luckily I dont tend to suffer from sweaty waist ! , ( but as for red wine spills ....... Blush) .
