Would yo go back to this hairdresser?

Basically nice lady but insanely chatty and her subject matter is a bit woo and irritating.

She's cut my hair twice, the first time without a blow dry, this time with.

She cuts it extremely well. I have quite fine, wavy/curly hair and she is very good at cutting it so it somehow appears to have more volume - which is apparent when I dry it myself and was apparent without the blow dry.

Yesterday, despite me having been chatting away the whole time about how I never straighten my hair and really wanted her to do everything she could to encourage the curl, she blow dried it straight! And then used straighteners on my fringe! It didn't bother me that much at the time - I knew I could wash it again and dry it curly when I got home. But it cost a bit more than I expected and I've since realised she probably charged for the use of the straighteners.

Given that the actual cut is good (it looks great today, dried my way), would you give her another try? And just put your foot down right form the beginning "I only want it blow-dried if you dry it curly"? Or is that just going to offend her because I obviously didn't like the way she dried it last time? (Her chatty woo-ness reminds me a bit of a former friend of mine who was incredibly easily offended...)

If she does a good cut then you only need to ask for her to dry it curly. I'm sure she wont mind. Just ignore her chatting if you dont like it, cant take you that long of its just a cut?

If she cuts well I'd stick to her like glue. The cut is everything in my book. I'll put up with all sorts if that is good. Just tune out the woo and be very very clear about the drying.

If I could find a hairdresser that cut my curly hair well, I wouldn't care at all how they dried it...and you could have said something while she was drying it as it'd be pretty obvious she was drying it straight anyway.

Just say you don't want it blow dried at all, it's better for curls anyway.

If you're happy with the cut its worth swallowing your awkwardness and stating very clearly that you don't want it dried/ straightened.

That was the problem - by the time it became obvious she'd already done a bit, I wasn't sure what you're supposed to do at that point - ask them to start all over again? I've never had to get forceful with a hairdresser before! I do usually prefer not having it blow dried (I just air dry at home) but for some reason thought I'd "treat myself" this time...)

I go to a hairdresser who specialises in curly/ wavy hair and cuts it dry as it's the only way you can see how the hair looks naturally. Maybe you could ask her to do this?

Yep, I stop them if I think they're doing anything other than what I asked for, I learned that the hard way after going in for subtle caramel highlights and coming out looking like I was wearing a badger...

I agree with PPs, I think I'd put up with a lot if I found someone who could genuinely cut my hair well. If you don't want it straightened then tell her, how she dries it on the day only lasts until you wash it anyway.

I'd just get a wet cut and no blow dry.
