She's 83 size 10, well proportioned
It need to be a plain natural fabric, 3/4 length sleeves - she doesn't like her arms
Midi length, sober colour - maybe light grey or a pastel. And hopefully under £100 but would stretch to £150.

From a quick eBay search of 'grey linen dress 10', is this ex-Warehouse number the type of dress you have in mind? It can be fully buttoned up for a more demure look than the way the model is wearing it in the main photo:

Would navy spot be too frivolous , it comes with plain shrug. HERE

I have trouble finding clothes for 93 year old MIL who is very clothes conscious .

Shift style ? Wrap around ?

Trumpton · 27/05/2016 17:19

M&S with a smarter belt?

Trumpton · 27/05/2016 17:25

Or M&S again

Can your mum manage buttons and zips? I ask because my mum began to struggle with them at some point in her 80s and so preferred pull on styles.

Chewbecca · 27/05/2016 17:37

Tough brief. How about this silk jaeger dress, £159 though

Trumpton · 27/05/2016 17:58

chewbecca That silk dress is lovely . I have to watch the pull on styles for MIL as she has been known to get stuck in them. Cue frantic phone call to me ! Her great grandchild added it to her little list of woes !
" Gigi ( great granny) got stuck in dress and daddy got broke phone and I spilt my milk ! "

Thanks all, I love the jaegar silk dress! To complicate things further she is more a trouser suit type person, I can't remember ever seeing her in a dress but that's what she wants. She is completely mobile - she flying long haul to attend the funeral - hope I'm as fit in my 80's.
So while we are visiting over half term she wants me to go shopping with her but local shops are limited and shopping is so tiring - I just want to order stuff online for her....all these ideas are great because it'll give me a good steer as to what she'll go for.

For a hot climate, and more especially if there's high humidity, it has to be linen or a cotton/linen blend as silk retains heat.

If she's a trouser suit gal perhaps she'd be more comfortable in a loose fitting linen skirt with a lagenlook style linen top which would also be suitable for a long haul flight.

How about something from cos or Toast?
