Clarins skincare - any recommendations?

I'm currently happy with the skincare I use at the moment, but just fancy a change. I have been given some Clarins body stuff and love it, so wonder whether to splurge on some face stuff.

Does anyone have any recommendations or reviews? I'm looking at the Super Restorative range or the Extra Firming as I am on the older side of middle age, to put it mildly!

Thanks.

Blue Orchid Oil
Pure Melt Cleanser
Exfoliating Toner
Hand and Nail Cream
Self tanner drops for face
Beauty Flash Balm (for hangovers or before applying evening make up)

I like the exfoliating brightening toner, too. Might be worth a try. You might like the milk cleansers, too.

I used to love the multi active cream a few years ago but not since they changed their formulation. Same for the gentle foaming cleanser. Of course, my skin may well have changed too.

Since going through menopause, I've found their stuff is a godsend. My skin became very dry and sensitive and none of the usual moisturisers or product I used seemed to work. I've now got a routine sorted out with their lovely HydraQuench for very dry skin (only available on line) and their sensitive cleansers which are effective and don't irritate. I use the Golden Glow which is fab - a very gentle, subtle way to add a bit of colour at this time of year, and their self tan cream for legs is gorgeous (really nice smell). I've also had good results with their lipsticks and eye shadows, and like others always have some Beauty Flash Balm around in case I need a bit more oomph with my makeup.

I never saw the point of Clarins until I turned 40 and now I love it. The Extra Firming Night cream is really good - doesn't make me break out and gives my skin a little oomph. I got a sample size of the Extra Firming Day Cream in the gift with purchase Boots are currently running, so I'm looking forward to trying that out. I love Beauty Flash, and use it every day. Hydra Quench is a great range for dehydrated skin, and I use the normal moisturiser as an eye cream - it's good.

I also really like their fragrances - in the Summer, I use either Eau Ressourcante or Eau Des Jardins every day, it's lovely. It's not long lasting, but's it's great to use after my morning shower and makes me feel really fresh.

I use the self-tanning drops that you mix in with body lotion - these are the best way to offset my ultra white skin I've found, and fairly hassle free. The face beauty boosters - hmm, not sure. I have the orange ones and I'm not really sure they make a difference. Not sure I'll repurchase.

The exfoliating toner made my skin break out really badly and I had to stop using it - it was just too active for my skin.

I would strongly advise, if there are a couple of items you want to try, finding a Gift With Purchase as they do really generous sample sizes in the gifts. In the one Boots is running now, they have 100ml sizes of body lotion and scrub (both fab), 30ml sizes of moisturisers (considering the full sizes are 50ml, and cost c.£50, this is a great way to try out a few things). I think they have a facial oil too, can't remember.

Thanks for all your comments and advice . As ever, it's obviously a personal thing, though in general it looks as though it's the people with more mature skin (hope that's a polite way of saying it Grin } who like Clarins. I'll be near a big Boots next weekend, so I think I'll try to get some samples or see if there are any good offers on.

Just to add, another 'mature' Clarins devotee here. Have used the range since my 30s and have many compliments on my skin.

Love all their Super Restorative range, eye cream, hand cream, after-sun cream and body moisturiser. And even use their foot cream.
Not cheap but I only ever buy when they have a promotion on and you can get 3 or 4 very decent sized free products - including their moisturisers.

I love the gentle foaming facial cleanser, it lasts for ages and feels great on my face. Also the orange exfoliating cleanser. The hydra-quench serum is great, I use that for a little boost if my skin is dry. I also love the clarifying toner.

I'm not keen on the beauty flash balm but I know a lot of people rave about it so it might just be me. The breast balm makes promises that it absolutely can't keep so I wouldn't bother touching that (all the benefits can be achieved through just normal moisturising).

I also use one of their moisturisers because it's one of the few I don't react to, but I have really gone off it. I used a different one of theirs before this and that was fine on my skin as well, but again, not great.

Oh, and BTW, my skin isn't very 'mature' (I'm 25!) but it is very sensitive
