Does anyone else get a heeby jeeby feeling at the thought of wearing flip flops or sandals with a toe post?

Urgh.

I'm looking at pictures of sandals and scrunching up my toes at all the pictures with a toe post. The space between my big toe and my..........less big toe(?) would feel violated if I put a pair of flip flops on.

Yup. Whenever i've tried on toe-post sandals I kind of shudder and my big toe involuntarily lifts up. I just think i'd end up with horrible blisters between my toes.

Lumpy, like you I live in flip flops, and only dont wear them when raining too !! try and string it out and been know to wear them in November !! When my daughter attended nursery we were all know as the flip flop family :) Wearing them at work as i type !! :)

squoosh · 12/05/2016 16:36

It's not that I'm worried they'd be sore and cause blisters it just gives me a weird feeling in my stomach. Like imagining someone sticking their finger in your bellybutton.

Actually yes. I feel your squeam.

LizardBreath · 12/05/2016 16:45

I HAVE FOUND MY PEOPLE!! I hate them. Agree with you squoosh, total toe gap violation! Bleurrgh!

I do envy people though- so much choice!

The thought of a toe post and high heels sends me waaaay over the edge.

Costacoffeeplease · 12/05/2016 16:53

Nope wear them all day every day from April to October (I'm not in the U.K.)

lovetoskimum · 12/05/2016 16:57

I'm in Brighton :)

Totally agree, the thought of it goes RIGHT through me, Urgh!!!!!! Shudder.

I wear the Birkenstock strap style without toe thongs. Sorry for saying toe thongs.

Costacoffeeplease · 12/05/2016 17:04

Often wear them in winter too

Katymac · 12/05/2016 17:06

They make me shudder

squoosh · 12/05/2016 17:09

LizardBreath a toe-post combined with a high heel is absolutely beyond the pale.

Nope don't like them one bit. Don't really want my kids wearing them as would like them in something more supportive but have given in for the beach.

Mainly don't like the toe post. Have tried strappy sandles but with a toe post and can't do those either. But also prefer sandals that stay on and don't flop around on anybody bit just me!!

Monochromecat · 12/05/2016 17:20

Yes!! I'm exactly the same!

midnightmoomoo · 12/05/2016 18:33

I had bone removed from under my big toe when I was 18, and if I put my foot down funny, it feels just like when you knock your funny bone!!!

kelda · 12/05/2016 18:36

I can't stand them either. How can anyone run in them? I get really annoyed when I see children (girls) wearing them to school.

P1nkP0ppy · 12/05/2016 18:42

I hate toe post sandals with a vengeance = instant blisters 😡

Tuiles · 12/05/2016 19:01

These are just utterly wrong in every way!!

Ewwie

KittyB52 · 12/05/2016 21:57

A friend once bought me a pair of flip flops to try as she couldn't believe I wouldn't wear them. My toes were having none of it, I had to force my toes to separate just to get the damn things on and then couldn't walk properly as it felt like my feet were rejecting them.

GRIM.

And also the noise they make irritates me - people flip flopping up and down the office. Flip flop OFF. Grin
