sizing in Topshop

I went shopping today and tried on some top shop skinnies in size 12.

One of them was almost impossible to do up, the other zipped up but I looked like I'd been poured into them. I couldn't bear to try on a 14 so I left with nothing!

I'm 34 bust, 28 waist, 35 hips. I feel like I need to liposuction my hips away into nothingness or something. My height is 5'6.

Up until now I actually thought I was slim but now I'm not so sure.

Are the sizes really weird in top shop? or do I need lipo/crazy dieting

I always thought Topshop was pretty consistent with sizing. I'm usually a 10 in there and an 8 in the likes of Gap or M&S.

It's one of the places that I think still has "proper" sizes. I'm certainly not an 8, for example, despite what my Gap and Next jeans claim.

They used to be Running, but over the past year or so they've gone drastically downhill with sizing IMO. I agree with Branleuse mainly, but just wanted to say that Topshop jeans seem to be quite unforgiving until broken in and then they fit well, a bit like leather shoes.

Only on mn where a simple question about clothes sizing can spark someone off.
