Got two posh events in Feb - need outfits to suit both.

In Feb my mum is taking me and the family to the Ritz in London for dinner and then later in the month I'm going to the Royal Albert Hall to see Madam Butterfly with my DH's work. I need something smart and a bit funky that I can wear to both and not too mumsy but not officey and I don't know where to start.

I'm not very tall, I suit darker autumnal colours and I don't really go for frills or patterns (tho will consider patterns if funky and not too in yer face).

Haven't got a budget in mind though I suppose don't want to spend more than £250 - inc. accessories.

Over to the collective wisdom of the MN style gurus...

Oooh lordy a deafening sound of silence in response to my plea for help.

In the meantime though I've kind of narrowed it down to the fact that I definitely want a dress. I'm thinking along the lines of DVF / Issa styles - would love originals if I could get but any high street alternatives would be great.

Can anyone help?

anniemac it's a gorgeous dress and I love the style but the colour would wash me out sadly. I need things like brown, burnt orange, dark green, peacock blue, purple etc
