Help, we go to DLP at the end of the month and I do not have a clue what to wear. What would you wear to look chic but also practical? I don't want to end up With that sweaty harassed mum in all the holiday snaps Smile.

Also the weather seems so changeable in Paris, when people say wear layers what exactly do you wear?? I feel I am either winter or summer, I just don't know how to do Spring!

I consider the following to be layers:
Vest
Long sleeved top
Thin merino jumpers
Zip up fleece
Waterproof

JackandDiane · 11/04/2016 20:29

but only if it is a MAJE sweater remember Hmm

Very comfy shoes, and nice thick socks with them. (I always throw a pair of comfy sandals in my case as well)
Decent rain coat
Nice rucksack

Those are the important things , apart from that I tend to wear Disney tops, I theme my outfits because I'm a big nerd . Usually jeans and nice top, sometimes leggings. I'm going this week and my non themed outfits are all jeans, comfy trainers, thin vest, t-shirt rain coat.
I also bring a big scarf, a lightweight one that I can double up to keep me warmer or cooler as need be.
Hair is important for looking nice as well, you want a style that will still look good after being on a rollercoaster, nothing too bulky at the back of your hear as it'll make the chairs uncomfortable.

Why the Hmm Jack?

I was trying to do French chic but ended up in a plastic poncho Wink

HermioneWeasley · 11/04/2016 21:00

Dear god, I had no idea people put this level of thought into what to wear at a theme park! Live and learn.

Ticktockwedontstop · 11/04/2016 21:01

Thank you all so much Flowers! I have ordered a pair of Stan smiths to take along with my Chelsea boots.

I am so glad I posted as I seriously thought it would lovely Spring weather with no need for any coats etc.

"Dear god, I had no idea people put this level of thought into what to wear at a theme park!"

Neither did I. I just wear weather appropriate and activity appropriate clothes. In my case for Florida this summer I will wear comfortable sandals/Sketchers Go Walks, shorts/skirts and thin cotton tops or dresses. I will take a rain poncho as well.

HermioneWeasley · 11/04/2016 21:10

I am seriously worried now that my slovenly, ungroomed ways are in fact being noticed and judged. I always assumed nobody cared!

NicknameUsed · 11/04/2016 21:17

Nobody does care Hermione. Just a small sample of MN style police.

Ticktockwedontstop · 11/04/2016 21:50

Hermione & Nickname, thank you for the really helpful posts Hmm Why post on s&b if you have no interest? Is it to make you look oh so cool to be slovenly and ungroomed?!

HermioneWeasley · 11/04/2016 21:56

Nobody has ever accused me of being cool before, so thank you Grin

I've been to DLP a lot, so when I saw the title I clicked to see if I could help. Didn't realise it was a S&B query, and it was like a window onto another world for me.

Each to their own, eh ticktock?

Toffeelatteplease · 12/04/2016 08:00

I have lots of photos up on the wall of the kids and me enjoying ourselves at Disney. If it's going to be up on my wall in perpetuity I want to look alright in the photos.

I also don't want to be too hot, too cold too wet either. Noone is judging on style but I did see a shift in staff treatment when I smartened up a bit. I too have hair and nails done (only time I have nails done) just before I go. Makes getting ready quicker there.

It's not about being the style police it's about being comfortable. I would be hideously uncomfortable in a poncho, and it's really not practical when dealing with children (and especially not a child in a wheelchair.)

Incidentally I have done DLP quite happily in heels before. It's actually quite a compact site in you are staying on site.... I was younger and less decrepit then though!

Boakingboy · 12/04/2016 08:35

We went at the end of April/beginning of May and it was boiling! We left early one day because it was so hot. Grin
Style police? Hardly. No one is judging, just saying what we wore!Confused
There is nothing wrong with enjoying style, it doesn't mean you're sneering at people who don't give a fiddler's fart.
Enjoy your trip OP. I love my Stans!
