top end eyeshadows?

Having just discovered the delights of chanel lipstick ( yes the price as worth it to me!) I got to wondering whether their eyeshadows or other similarly high end shadows were worth the investment?
I am 48 and haven't really got a clue what to do!

Envy if only it stayed on my eyelids Madbengalmum, maybe I should look into those failing primers all over again...

It didn't help I just found it still for sale here...

Madbengalmum · 05/04/2016 20:49

Thats where i get mine from! They have a really good selection.

GingerFoxInAT0phat · 05/04/2016 21:01

Make up geek are some of the best eyeshadows I have tried. They come in singles and you can buy a Z palette to put them in.

Wasn't keen on the Chanel quad shadows, they seemed to blend into nothing.

Candycoco · 05/04/2016 21:05

Naked 2 and the original naked palettes are my absolute faves. I use benefit lemon-aid primer too which I find makes the colours stand out even more.

notamummy10 · 05/04/2016 21:15

Not sure it's already been mentioned but Urban Decay! Their Naked Palettes are worth it - £38 for 12 palettes is just over £3 an eyeshadow and the pigmentation is superb and they're very blendable!

DameXanaduBramble · 05/04/2016 21:27

I really don't rate the Chanel quads, the colour is very wish you washy. I love the urban decay naked palettes, they blend beautifully. I rate Lancôme & Clinique eye shadows too. Apparently the new Rosie range in M&S is made by Clarins, which is funny, because when I saw them in the shop I instantly thought of Clarins. Nice, silky shadows.

notamummy10 · 05/04/2016 22:43

Also Urban Decay do smaller versions of the Naked Palettes too; they are called Naked Basics and Naked Basics 2. They have six shades from the two bigger palettes and consist of five matte shades and one highlighting shade! The texture of the eyeshadows is beautiful, it's like butter!

I will just say that their glitter eyeshadows do have some fall out to them, so either use those shields you can get or put your base on afterwards!

I love Dior eye shadows

bigbuttons · 06/04/2016 08:18

UD seems v popular. I will check out the small ones. I don't use enough eyeshadow/nor do I know how to use a thousand different shades, to get a big palette.

Dior looks nice.

The big ones actually work out at great value though even if you only wear one shadow at a time. I don't do all the multi layered look and I love the palettes as it allows flexibility.

CremeDeSudo · 06/04/2016 10:06

IJustLostTheGame I love that you just corrected your 'there/their'. This is one of the reasons I love MN Smile

Nabootique · 06/04/2016 10:41

I love Laura Geller eyeshadows. I have the Delectables palette in Nude and it is beautiful.

Boakingboy · 06/04/2016 11:03

I use Dior Trio palette.
They have recently changed their formula. I find they are very wearable, go on easily, blend well and have good staying power.
I also love Chanel as the colours are second to none I think, however I am allergic to them and so can only wear it on special occasions and pay the price with itchy kids the next day.

Boakingboy · 06/04/2016 11:04

Oops! Lids! Grin
